Zyderm is a product that is most thought of as a Collagen injection. The opinions have been expressed by many doctors that this is a highly effective way to improve the appearance wrinkles. This product was introduced around 1981. The manufacturer of this product have made claims that they may have set a new standard in the area of smoothing out wrinkles. In this review we are going to try to determine whether or not this product could be used as an effective anti-aging product.

Product Details

This product was introduced around 1981. The manufacturer of this product have made claims that they may have set a new standard in the area of smoothing out wrinkles. It is considered to be a “derma-filler”. People often used this method as a way to plump their lips in order to smooth out the wrinkles around the mouth, and to also provide the lips with a full appearance. It is claimed that instant results can be seen when using this method. However, provide the lips with a full appearance. Most of the time it is found that this method is bypassed due to the known skin allergens and because the injections can become quite painful. The price of this procedure cannot be over looked either. The treatments are usually available in the price range of $300 to $600 dollars. The treatments are also recommended to be done every 2 to 3 months. If done every 2 months, it can add up to $1,800 or $3,600 per year. If done every 3 months this procedure can add up to somewhere between $1,200 and $2,400 per year. As you can see, this treatment has the potential to add up fairly quickly.

The Good

  • Can most often produce immediate results.
  • May be a convenience to some because treatment is only 4 to 6 times per year.

The Bad

  • Proves to be a bit painful.
  • Increase of expense to maintain the results.
  • Results are not considered to be long term.
  • May be high maintenance.
  • Contains known allergens.

The Bottom Line

The only thing that really sticks out that may make some women consider this alternative is the fact that it only has to be done every 2 to 3 months. Results are not necessarily guaranteed either. It is found that the effectiveness of this product is determined by the overall condition of the skin. This can be misleading due to the fact that it requires time consuming maintenance in between each treatment.

When it comes to being considered as an anti aging product, this may not be the best suited title for this product. Reason being is because it does not necessarily improve the overall condition of your skin, it just merely hides the symptoms. It could me thought by some women that if this product requires high maintenance, then why should a potential consumer have to endure the pain when there are other products out there that have been proven to be effective and require less pain and little maintenance?
