Skin-Care Comparison Chart ExplainedClose Window

How We Rate A Skin Care Product
Since 2008, we have reviewed over 1,800 skin care products, and heard from thousands of product users. We have selected rating criteria that our readers find important. We put together this comparison table so that readers can quickly and easily see how a product that they may be interested in compares to the top skin care products currently on the market. The criteria we have used to rate products are all things that our readers want to know about when choosing a new skin care product. They are:

Does this product include two or more patented peptides? Patented peptides are important, since to obtain a patent, a peptide must be rigorously tested in clinical trials. A peptide is a new molecule that has been engineered in a lab. If a product contains two or more of these peptides, you know that the formula has yielded measurable results and that it is unique to this product.

Is there a free gift from the manufacturer? It’s always nice to get a free gift! We certainly wouldn’t base a purchasing decision around this criteria alone, but our readers definitely like to get more for their money, so we have included it.

Are there user testimonials from the manufacturer? This is pretty self-explanatory. The FTC has recently cracked down on fake anti-aging cream testimonials and photos online, so if a product has testimonials and photos on the official site, it’s safe to assume they’re the real deal. This is always great to see!

Is there a trial offer? If a company believes in their product, they’ll let potential users try it out before buying. We look at a trial offer as a sign of confidence from the product manufacturer.
