TriCeram is a moisturizer designed to target Rosacea and general dryness as a result of age, offering a fragrance free product made for allergen-sensitive skin. Current reviews hold this cream in high acclaim, and their cream has supposedly gained trust with customers because of its natural makeup, consisting of Vitamin E and Hyaluronic Acid. The availability and price make this product essentially available to all customers — one bottle sells for $29.95. This cream isn’t turning heads because of its availability alone, however. This formula has attracted the attention of many Rosacea sufferers because customers say it did dramatically reduce their symptoms. For those that cannot afford standard Rosacea treatments, this might be their next consideration, and some may consider going against doctor’s orders to try a new cream that claims to reduce these symptoms naturally.
This cream does not only claim to treat Rosacea, however. It supposedly helps moisturize any type of skin and allows it to stay soft and supple, renewing the appearance after daily application. Not all is well, however — their main ingredients are found in all typical anti-wrinkle emollients. Despite the abundance of scientific information they lay out about their product, some really question if this cream is a legitimate cure for Rosacea.
Product Details
According to TriCeram’s website, their product contains Purified Water, Lanolin, PEG-20 Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Ceramide, Glycerine, Petrolatum, Dimethicone, Curcumin, Soybean Sterol, Linoleic Acid, Tocopheryl Acetate, Stearic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Camosine, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Propylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, and Propylparaben. They emphasize the use of Vitamin E and Hyaluronic Acid; however, it is apparent these are not the main ingredients included in their product. The real main ingredients are Ceramide and Lanolin, which take up most of TriCeram’s formulation. Ceramide is actually an important component in the treatment of Rosacea — studies show people with Rosacea contain a decreased amount of ceramides in the top layer of their epidermis, which they believe contributes to Rosacea symptoms. In further studies, replacing Ceramide by rubbing it into the skin helped Rosacea sufferers with their symptoms. TriCeram may offer legitimate help for Rosacea sufferers from this aspect, although it contains many other ingredients which may lessen the impact of this ingredient.
Lanolin also contains some benefits. Numerous studies have concluded Lanolin helped heal damaged skin (such as rashes or minor cuts) because of its anti-bacterial properties. How it affects people afflicted with Rosacea is not known, but has been used successful for decades to heal minor rashes. Ironically enough, Lanolin may cause an allergic reaction with some people if it is a wrong grade. Many companies tend to use lesser grades of Lanolin as a means of saving money, which often risks consumers’ safety.
The Good
- Increasing ceramides in the epidermis is cited to reduce symptoms for people diagnosed with Rosacea.
- Ingredients may offer some moisturization benefits.
The Bad
- Lanolin may actually cause an allergic reaction.
- A bit difficult to purchase, with its only availability in some online stores.
- Their main ingredients are actually featured in smaller amounts in their formula.
The Bottom Line
Their main ingredients actually do offer some proven benefits to Rosacea sufferers, but consumers may want to check with a physician before using this cream. There are side effects to this cream, and worsening symptoms of Rosacea may not be worth it. This is not another cream claiming to have benefits not backed up by science, however, and definitely is a cream to keep in mind in case your current treatment isn’t offering the desired results.
