Herbal Skinovation is a skin care products line based in Kuala Lumpur. The product line is based on ancient Chinese herbal skin care and botanicals rather than chemicals- a popular trend in skin care. The Herbal Skinovation line includes cleansers, toners, moisturizers and masks.
There is very little information provided on each product on the company website. The listings consist only of a small picture of the product, a list of a few active ingredients, and a “buy now” button. We were unable to find application instructions which would allow the consumer to assess how long the product might last. There is also no indication of a manufacturer’s guarantee on any of the Herbal Skinovation products. Providing a guarantee allows the consumer to purchase with confidence knowing that if the product doesn’t work as promised, they can return it and get their money back. We also like to see skin care companies provide details of clinical trials on their products supporting the claims of effectiveness. There is no indication of clinical trials on the Herbal Skinovation website.
Product Details
It is very difficult to get a good sense of whether any of the Herbal Skinovation products might work without knowing what is in them. For example, the Herbal Skinovation Face Emulsion lists ginseng, Vitamin E and pearl as the active ingredients. Ginseng and Vitamin E are known for their anti-inflammatory and soothing properties but without knowing the concentration of these ingredients or what else might be in the product leaves the consumer in the dark.
When we look at effective anti-aging and anti-wrinkle products, we like to see certain clinically-proven ingredients. Collagen is an important protein in our skin that diminishes over time. Replacing it is an important step in any anti-aging regimen. Peptides like Matrixyl 3000 and Argiriline can make dramatic changes to aging skin by stimulating the body’s own ability to produce collagen and by relaxing facial muscles to smooth out wrinkles above them. None of these ingredients appear to be present in the Herbal Skinovation products.
