Skinlift Light is a hand held light therapy wand manufactured by Gloria Martel. Color light therapy is used by several skin care manufactures to fight wrinkles and other signs of aging. What we frequently find when we look closer at these appliances is that they provide no evidence that they actually work. We will have to examine Skinlift Light to see if it might be able to deliver on its promises.

According to the company’s official website, the Skinlift Light stimulates the body’s production of collagen and elastin through stimulating cell proteins with specific frequencies of light. The company states that the results will last from two to six months, but that one could repeat the treatment to replicate the initial results. Skinlift Light is available for sale on the Gloria Martel website. The website itself is basic and rudimentary. Very little information is provided about the Skinlift Light. There is no indication of clinical trials supporting the effectiveness of the product. We also were not able to find a manufacturer’s warranty in case customers did not feel that the product was working for them.

Product Details

The Skinlift Light retails on the manufacturer’s website for $250 at the time of this review. The treatment is to be performed for 15 minutes, five days a week. The company does not indicate how quickly noticeable results should be expected. Although color therapy itself has some research to suggest that it may stimulate some healing processes in the body, there appears to be no research behind this particular product. Anyone choosing to treat themselves with the Skinlift Light should consult with their doctor or dermatologist before using in case there is the possibility of the light reacting with the skin in detrimental ways.

The Good

  • Available online.

The Bad

  • No indication of clinical research to back up the product’s claims.
  • No money-back guarantee offered.
  • Expensive compared to other alternatives.
  • Independent customer reviews mostly negative.

The Bottom Line

It is natural for a skin care products manufacturer to try to convince you that there is a magic short cut to rejuvenating skin and reducing lines and wrinkles. Many consumers are willing to pay premium prices if they feel they are getting something that is easy to use and effective. However, there simply is no indication that the Skinlift Light is effective. If the manufacturer had spent more time thoroughly testing the product, they would have produced the results for consumers to use to decide on their own. We feel that the best way to dramatic and long-lasting results in the fight against aging skin is by using a topical application from a reputable manufacturer that includes clinically-proven ingredients. It will also be much easier on your pocketbook.

Editor's Review: 4.6 / 5.0

After looking at so many anti-aging treatments, we've seen that the delicate skin around the eyes can be a real problem area for many people. Dark circles can make you look years older, and for some people even a good night's sleep won't make them go away. That's why we were so excited to find Hydrolyze, which has been formulated by industry experts specifically as an under-eye treatment. The makers of Hydrolyze are so confident in their product that they offer potential users a Risk Free Trial so they can see the results for themselves.
