Skingenious markets an extensive line of skin care products for both women and men. The line consists of the usual assortment of cleansers, toners, moisturizers, masks and peels. Skingenious also carries an anti-aging line, including their signature product, 10 Years Younger. We will focus on this product in this review as we compare it to other formulations available on the market today.

Skingenious’ 10 Years Younger is a serum that contains no less than 31 active ingredients in high doses according to the company. Consumers may think that the more ingredients a skin care product contains, the better it is. In fact, quite often the opposite is true. Many highly effective skin care products contain less than five active ingredients that are carefully and expertly formulated to provide the best results. All Skingenious products can be purchased directly from the company’s website. We like this feature as it cuts out the middle man and generally results in lower prices to the consumer. However, the direct manufacturer’s price of 10 Years Younger at the time of this review is $175 for one ounce which may be out of the affordable zone for many.

Skingenious 10 Years Younger contains a wheelbarrowful of ingredients including Vitamins C & B, squalane, aloe vera and various botanicals. We feel that the stand out ingredient in this product is hyaluronic acid, a compound found naturally in skin that depletes over time. Hyaluronic acid can hold over 1,000 times its own weight in water and has been clinically-proven to deeply hydrate skin. However, we prefer to see hyaluronic acid teamed up with collagen, another substance that depletes from the skin as we age. We find nothing else in the Skingenious formulation that suggests that the product can reduce wrinkles or tighten the skin.

According to the Skingenious website, their products contain no artificial colors or fragrances, or any synthetic preservatives. Many mediocre skin care products contain cosmetic preservatives called parabens that are known allergens and suspected carcinogens. We are pleased to see that the Skingenious products exclude these controversial ingredients.

The Bottom Line

While there are several features we like about the Skingenious products and the company’s website, we feel that there are more proven effective products on the market. The expense of Skingenious 10 Years Younger may make it out of reach for many consumers. The good news is that there are some products on the market today that contain hyaluronic acid along with collagen and other anti-aging fighters like Matrixyl 3000 or Argiriline. Many of these products are also less expensive than Skingenious.
