Skinceuticals has been producing skin care products since 1997, and the company is committed to designing formulas that will help protect skin against environmental damage that results in premature aging. The company states that the products are available through dermatologists, plastic surgeons and medi-spas, but they can also be purchased through the company website and from online retailers. Some of the products are a bit expensive, but Skinceuticals does offer a 30-day money back guarantee.

There are numerous lines of Skinceuticals products, and many can be purchased in “systems” so you can find the group of products that will meet your specific needs best. Products include cleansers, toners and moisturizers, as well as items designed to treat particular skin issues. There are six different skin systems available for treating acne, lightening skin, maintenance, defense, clarifying and rejuvenating. For the purpose of this review, we will look at the System IV Rejuvenate.

Product Details

The Skinceuticals System IV Rejuvenate includes C E Ferulic, Phyto+ and Ultimate UV Defense SPF 30. As a bonus, you can get the Intense Line Defense with this system. According to the company website, the purpose of this system is to combine anti-aging, exfoliating and skin lightening products with photoprotection that can be used alone or with other products. The Skinceuticals C E Ferulic is an antioxidant formula that offers protection against photoaging. It states that it can help build collagen, but we do not find any ingredients listed that perform this job effectively. However, not all of the ingredients are listed on the company website.

The Skinceuticals Phyto+ does provide a hyaluronic acid base, which is an excellent choice for skin hydration. However, this ingredient is much more effective with proven substances like matrixyl or argireline in the mix. Neither of these ingredients is listed for the Phyto+. The Ultimate UV Defense SPF 30 contains zinc oxide, which makes it a basic sunscreen and the Intense Line Defense is another hyaluronic acid base that also contains a hydroxy acid blend. While this substance can be effective in anti-aging products, it can also be very irritating to the skin. Overall, we do not see many ingredients that jump out at us in the Skinceuticals System IV Rejuvenate as effective anti-aging substances.

The Good

  • Some of the Skinceuticals products contain hyaluronic acid.
  • The company does offer a 30-day money back guarantee.
  • The company focuses heavily on skin protection.

The Bad

  • There are few proven anti-aging ingredients in these products.
  • We were unable to find customer testimonials.
  • The complete ingredient lists could not be found on the company website.

The Bottom Line

Skinceuticals does provide some high quality products that can be good for the overall health of your skin. These products also seem like they’d be good choices for general skin protection. However, if you are looking for an effective way to say goodbye to your fine lines and wrinkles, there are better ingredients and products available.

After looking at literally hundreds of wrinkle reduction and prevention treatments, Nue Science Cell Revival is our top choice. This product offers customers a Risk-Free Trial, and makes sure to both repair and protect the skin with Matrixyl 3000 for collagen and Uniprotect-PT-3 for UV protection. Hydrolyze Bottle

(Optional- For Enhanced Results): Hydrolyze

Editor's Review: 4.6 / 5.0

After looking at so many anti-aging treatments, we've seen that the delicate skin around the eyes can be a real problem area for many people. Dark circles can make you look years older, and for some people even a good night's sleep won't make them go away. That's why we were so excited to find Hydrolyze, which has been formulated by industry experts specifically as an under-eye treatment. The makers of Hydrolyze are so confident in their product that they offer potential users a Risk Free Trial so they can see the results for themselves. Hydrolyze contains the break-through ingredient Haloxyl, which has been shown to reduce under-eye discoloration between 40%-60% in a clinical case study. By offering consumers a way to erase the dark circles and wrinkles that often occur under the eyes, Hydrolyze is revolutionizing the skincare industry. >> Read more about Hydrolyze Go

I purchased SkinCeuticals Retinol 1.0. It is 1 oz for around $50.00. This is a horrible deal. After only the first use it took me 15 minutes to pump out a drop. The packaging is horrible. I read that is runs out fast online but ignored the review. It is true. Huge waste of money. I would hate for others to make the same mistake I did. Hope it helps someone.
