Robanda is a California-based company that was started a decade ago to offer women options in natural anti-aging products. According to the company website, the primary ingredient that is touted in this line is retinyl palmitate, which is a form of retinol. Retinol has been used for many years in skin care products, including anti-aging products. We will explore the benefits of retinol later in this review. Robanda offers a fairly extensive line of skin care products that can be used for whitening, cleansing pores and treating skin damage in addition to the anti-aging properties advertised. The products are reasonably priced and can be purchased directly from Robanda or through online retailers and high end department stores.

Robanda does not provide many customer testimonials for their products, nor do they offer a blanket policy on returns. The company website states that you must contact them directly for return information. There were some price reductions on the company website for some of the products, so you may be able to save money if you shop around a bit at third-party retailers.

Product Details

Robanda does not provide complete ingredient lists for any of their products. This is a concern to us, since those with sensitive skin or allergies cannot learn the full formula before purchasing the items online. While the Robanda website does claim that the products are gentle enough for any skin type, this does not take potential allergic reactions into consideration.

The main active ingredient in many of the anti-aging products is retinyl palmitate; a form of retinol that is derived from vitamin A. While retinol is used in many skin care products in a variety of forms, the jury is still out on its effectiveness at reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. This substance can also be irritating to the skin and increase sensitivity to the sun. We are happy to see that the anti-aging hand cream and moisturizer both contain an SPF to help offset potential sun damage. The company states that retinyl palmitate is one of the least irritating forms of vitamin A, which is correct. However, it is also one of the least effective as an anti-aging ingredient.

The Good

  • Retinyl palmitate may reduce the appearance of some fine lines.
  • Many of the products include an SPF.

The Bad

  • Retinyl palmitate can be irritating to the skin.
  • This is not the most effective anti-aging ingredient.
  • Information is sparse on customer testimonials and a money back guarantee.

The Bottom Line

Retinyl palmitate can improve the overall appearance of your skin, as long as your skin is not sensitive to the effects and you wear sunscreen while you are using these products. However, if you are looking for a way to diminish the appearance of wrinkles, products that contain proven ingredients like argireline, matrixyl and collagen may be a better bet.

I bought Robanda “Rejuvenating Serum” last year and am still using it. I like it. My question is: Is it still effective, being a year old, or should I trash it? Is it likely worthless now, as in partially decomposing. It contains, it says, Retinol, Vitamin A, a-Lupaline, CoEnzyme Q10. Thank you!
