Overview
Plantidote products are made by Origins, which is a skin care company that has been in business since 1990. Origins provides a vast array of skin care products, that claim to be “the purest products on earth”. Not only does Origins sell its products online, but there are also a handful of stores where consumers can go to purchase Plantidote and other Origins products. Origins sells skin care products for both men and women, with a strong focus on natural and organic products. Origins products are endorsed by Dr. Andrew Weil, “one of the world’s foremost experts in integrative health”.
Product Details
Plantidote offers several products called ‘Mega-Mushroom’ which include Eye Serum, Face Lotion, Face Cream, Face Serum, Eye Makeup Remover Pads, Face Cleanser, Treatment Lotion, Supplement, and Body Cream. Plantidote products are made to “optimize skin’s defenses”. Plantidote products use Chaga mushrooms to “quiet and calm” the skin. Plantidote products are supposed to help consumers to “maintain a stronger, healthier, more youthful appearance”. Aside from the Chaga mushroom, we are unable to determine what any of the other active or inactive ingredients are and how they work to treat wrinkles.
The Good
- According to the Origins website, Plantidote is able to be used on all skin types, including sensitive skin.
- Consumers can easily navigate through the Origins website to purchase Plantidote products online.
The Bad
- The Origins product website for Plantidote products do not provide product ingredients.
- There are no customer testimonials or before & after photos provided for consumers to determine product effectiveness.
- Plantidote products are expensive, yet they do not appear to contain the most effective anti-aging ingredients available on the market.
The Bottom Line
One good thing is that if you purchase at least $75.00 worth of merchandise from the Origins website, you will receive free shipping. Unfortunately, Origins does not provide a whole lot of product information, which would be helpful to consumers looking to purchase their products. Ingredient lists are not available, nor is clinical data to support claims that the products are effective for use as anti-aging treatments. With such a lack of information on its products, we are unable to say whether Plantidote products would work or not. Consumers might want to stick to purchasing anti-aging and anti-wrinkle products on the market with ingredients which have been proven effective such as Hyaluronic Acid, Collagen, and Matrixyl, among others. If you are going to spend a lot of money on skin care products, it is better to purchase products which provide more information, a list of ingredients, and proof that the products are effective. At the very least Plantidote should offer consumers a money back guarantee. We appreciate Plantidote’s commitment to natural ingredients, but we would still like to know more.
