Pier Auge Review

Pier Auge is a French cosmetics company that has been in existence for 45 years. The main Pier Auge product lines are: Facial Care, Body Care, Men, Teenagers, Suncare, and Makeup. Our first concern with companies that make so many different lines of products is whether they are able to give enough attention to ensure that each product is expertly formulated and proven effective.

Product Details

The Pier Auge skin care products share a frustrating lack of information common to many of the brand’s competitors. The Pier Auge website does not provide a full list of ingredients for any of its products and in many cases, does not appear to outline even the active ingredients. For products that retail upwards of $175, this is surprising as many consumers today want to know what is in the products they use on their skin.

According to the Pier Auge website, the basis of their formulations is something they call “base Dergyl”, a formulation meant to mimic the skin’s own properties. However, the company does not appear to explain this formulation further. Pier Auge does provide a generic list of ingredients that can be found in some of its products. Common ingredients are essential oils and vitamins. The stand out ingredient in the list is hyaluronic acid, which has been clinically-proven to deeply hydrate the skin and can hold over 1,000 times its own weight in water. We believe that the best formulations for wrinkles and aging skin, however, team this important ingredient up with collagen to replenish the body’s dwindling supply or peptides like Matrixyl 3000 or Argireline. These can have a dramatic and long-lasting effect in the war on wrinkles.

The Good

  • Well-established company.
  • Products are available through online retailers.

The Bad

  • No ingredient list provided.
  • No money-back guarantee offered.
  • May not contain clinically-proven ingredients.
  • Expensive compared to competitors.

The Bottom Line

We find it difficult to recommend an anti-wrinkle product like the Pier Auge line that does not disclose its ingredients, especially one so expensive. Those with skin allergies and sensitivities may want to exercise caution until they can review a complete list of ingredients. If you are looking for a proven skin care product backed up by clinical research and a money-back guarantee, you may wish to keep searching.
