|Philosophy Advanced Age Defense Regimen||
Philosophy Advanced Age Defense Regimen is a well-known cosmetics company whose products are often seen on home shopping channels. Philosophy Advanced Age Defense markets skin care, body & bath, makeup, hair care, and fragrances. One of Philosophy’s lines of skin care products is the Advanced Age Defense Regimen. The line consists of cleansers, toners, moisturizers, serums and peels- nine products in all. While we like the variety offered in the Advanced Age Defense Regimen, we know that most consumers do not want to have to purchase nine different products to take care of their skin.
The products are competitively priced and sport cute names like “Hope In a Jar” and “When Hope Is Not Enough”. All of the Philosophy products can be purchased on the Philosophy site. The website does not appear to contain any information about a money-back guarantee, which is something we look for in the best skin care companies.
Each Philosophy Advanced Age Defense Regimen product has a full description of its uses and benefits as well as a full list of ingredients, which allows the consumer to assess whether the product will work for their particular skin. When reviewing the list of ingredients, however, none really stand out to us as being able to deliver the anti-aging results claimed.
Some of the formulations contain Vitamins C, E, and A. While vitamins are an important part of any skin care regimen, there is conflicting evidence as to how effective they are when applied topically to the skin. When looking for an effective anti-aging or anti-wrinkle product, we look for certain clinically-proven ingredients that appear to be missing from the Philosophy Advanced Age Defense Regimen products. Collagen is important as the body produces less and less as we age. Hyaluronic acid deeply hydrates the skin and hold water in reserve. Peptides like Matrixyl 3000 and Argiriline work together to stimulate the body’s production of collagen and elastin and smooth wrinkles. These ingredients are powerful tools in the fight against aging skin.

The Bottom Line
While we like the clever marketing of the Philosophy line, there do not appear to be any ingredients in the products that make it stand out from the hundreds of other anti-aging products on the market today. We feel the best anti-aging and anti-wrinkle products contain proven ingredients with substantial clinical testing backing the product up. The best skin care companies will stand behind their products with a money-back guarantee to give the consumer confidence. While you could certainly do worse than the Philosophy Advanced Age Defense Regimen, you can also do much better.
