Perle De Caviar is a skin care line by Ingrid Millet, a company based in Paris France. The full Ingrid Millet line includes: Anti-Aging, Brightening, Cleansers, Exfoliants, Eye Products, Face, Hand & Body, Masks, Moisturizers, Serums and Toners. The Perle De Caviar line boasts both pearls and caviar as the products’ main ingredients. According to the Ingrid Millet website, caviar restores energy and vitality to the skin because it is so close in composition. Unfortunately, the website provides no links to clinical studies backing up those claims.
Products in the Perle De Caviar line include: two foundations, Relaxing Eye Mask, Cristal Eye Gel, Pearl Cream Cleanser, Gentle Cleansing Milk, Gentle Softening Lotion, Caviaressence Anti-Wrinkle Relaxing Cream, Bio-Marine Extract, and Rich Moisture Serum. The Perle De Caviar line is extremely expensive and may well be out of the price range of many consumers. The most frustrating issue that we have with the Perle De Caviar products is that the company does not provide a full list of ingredients. This poses two problems. The first is that those with skin allergies or sensitivities will have a difficult time trying to assess if there are any allergenic ingredients included in the Perle De Caviar products. The second issue is that it is almost impossible for the consumer to determine if the products contain any low-quality ingredients, like synthetic colors, fragrances or “fillers”.
Although pearls and caviar sound like exotic ingredients found only in the best skin care products, we were unable to find any significant studies to indicate either ingredient’s effectiveness at reducing wrinkles or rejuvenating aging skin. Skin care science advances at break-neck speed and companies need to keep up with innovations. We prefer anti-wrinkle products with clinically-proven ingredients like collagen and hyaluronic acid.
