Nutrius is a four product anti-aging skin care system which is to be used not only on the face and neck, but on the entire body. The makers of Nutrius claim that this system is “the most innovative, scientifically advanced approach to skincare in the last forty years”. Nutrius is said to “re-energize new skin cells, repair damaged skin, and strengthen skin’s ability to produce its own natural collagen for healthier, younger, and more vibrant skin”. The Nutrius system consists of several different products including DermaCleanse, Embelica Serum, Eye Cream, Face Lift Cream, and others.

Nutrius DermaCleanse is a facial cleanser which also prepares the skin for the other treatments in the skin care system. The ingredients include: Aqua, Cetyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract,
Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Allantoin, Ceteareth-20, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Parfum, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Butylparaben, Propylparaben.

Nutrius Embelica Serum contains retinol and vitamin E, which are popular in anti-aging products and are said to diminish the look of fine lines and seal in the skin’s essential moisture. Nutrius Eye Cream is meant to reduce dark circles and puffiness in the eye area as well as improve firmness and elasticity. Nutrius Face Lift Cream contains European Amino Peptides and is used to stimulate collagen synthesis to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. This product can be used on the face, hands, arms, legs, and chest.

The Good

The Bad

• The product does not contain the most powerful anti-aging ingredients available, such as lab-tested peptides.
• We could not find clinical studies or data to verify the product’s effectiveness.
• Before and after photos are not posted online from consumers who have tried the product with successful results.
• A four-step regimen could become tedious for some people.
• Products contain parabens, which can irritate sensitive skin.

The Bottom Line

The main ingredient, Embelica, is derived from a fruit which is supposed to reduce free radical damage and help even out skin tone. The Nutrius website provides a lot of information about how Embelica works, but does not provide access to clinical studies which could demonstrate the product’s effectiveness. Though it does have some ingredients that have shown positive effects at reducing wrinkles, it does not have the most effective ingredients on the market.
