Nu Skin Review

Overview

The Nu Skin brand of skin care was developed in 1984. There are many products in the line which address a variety of skin related issues many which focus in on anti-aging. The Nu Skin Anti-Aging Therapy System consists of a cleanser, night complex cream, a hydrator with SPF, a mist, a cell renewal serum, an AHA peel and a neutralizer. The AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) Facial Cream is specifically formulated to renew the skin and diminish fine lines and wrinkles in as little as seven days. All of the products in the line are designed to be used together in order to achieve the desired results.

Product Details

According to the official website, the AHA Cream is meant to exfoliate the skin by eliminating dead cells which can build up on the skin. Alpha Hydroxy Acids are used in many anti-aging skin care products. Their purpose is to mimic a professional chemical peel which is said to improve the appearance and texture of the skin. AHA’s can be irritating to sensitive skin and may cause the skin to dry out, become flakey, itch, turn red and blotchy as well as become more sensitive to the sun. There are advanced ingredients available on the market such as Real Collagen, Argireline, Matrixyl 3000 and Hyaluronic Acid which are proven to be more effective in reducing wrinkles and fine lines. The Nu Skin line does not include any of these advanced ingredients in their anti-aging products.

The Good

  • The Nu Skin line of skin care products address a variety of skin related issues.
  • Alpha Hydroxy Acids have been used for years in many other skin care lines.

The Bad

  • The Nu Skin products do not contain any advanced ingredients.
  • Alpha Hydroxy Acid creams can be irritating to sensitive skin.
  • The Nu Skin products have to be used together to produce effective results.

The Bottom Line

Many individuals are attracted to products like Nu Skin because they promise dramatic results in a relatively short period of time. Considering the fact that all of the Nu Skin formulas are missing important key ingredients such as Real Collagen, Argireline, Hyaluronic Acid and Matrixyl 300, it really makes one wonder how effective they really are. Additionally, it can be expensive and time consuming to have to use a company’s whole line of products in order to get good results. Most consumers are not willing to invest in the time or pay the high prices for products that simply do not work. Fortunately, there are many anti-wrinkle skin care options available to choose from which do not irritate the skin while providing many power packed ingredients that do work and will not break the bank.

Top Choice for 2009:  Dermapril-SP

Dermapril-SP was our favorite product to introduce, with a patented formula and visible results after only two weeks of use. Matrixyl 3000™, the patented active ingredient in Dermapril-SP, is backed by a clinical study showing a reduction in appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by 44%.

Dermapril-SP is based on research into the mechanisms that enable younger skin to appear firmer, tighter and more supple than older people's skin. The treatment helps the skin regain a more youthful appearance by accelerating the natural production of three building blocks: Collagen, Fibronectin and Hyaluronic Acid. The result is a rapid rejuvenation and a dramatically reduced appearance of wrinkles and other signs of age caused by sun exposure, smoking, stress, hormonal changes and other common factors.

Frequent reported benefits include immediate tightening and firming; smoother, softer skin; diminished appearance of fine lines and wrinkles; and rejuvinated, glowing skin. Dermapril-SP is the only product on the market that combines patented Matrixyl 3000™ and green-tea extracts in a hydrating cream. Based on the high cost and quality of the ingredients, Dermapril-SP is reasonably priced. Customer satisfaction is high and Dermapril-SP offers a free trial, so that customers can fully evaluate the product prior to purchasing it.
