Overview
Meladerm is made by Civant Skin Care. Meladerm is a pigment reducing cream that is used to lighten discoloration, hyper pigmentation, and dark skin spots. Civant Skin Care goes out of their way on their website to let you know they are dedicated to research and clinical trials to determine the safety and efficacy of their skin lightening products.

The other Meladerm products are:
- Antioxidant Facial Cleanser.
- Purifying Facial Toner.

The Good
- The website lists the entire list of ingredients for all of their products. They also do not use hydroquinone, mercury, steroids, or any other harmful bleaching agents found in some skin lighteners.
- Civant Skin Care offers at least 3 clinical studies for their product on the website. They can be read or downloaded in pdf. Format and printed.
- Despite the extensive research and development that’s gone into the Meladerm products, they are not astronomical in price.
The Bad
- There is no SPF in this product. Your skin can actually become more sensitive to sunlight while using this product and the website recommends you stay out of the sun for any prolonged exposure.
- Even though we’re sure they would defend the use of it, there are parabens in the product. This is sure to be an irritant for anyone with sensitivities to synthetic preservatives.
- You are not recommended to use the product long term, due to the overlightening of you skin. Since the average woman isn’t a dermatologist, she may not know when too long is.
- Obviously, this product is only meant to treat age spots and other specific skin color related signs of aging, not wrinkles.
The Bottom Line
Meladerm has a lot of scientific research behind their product, which is a breath of fresh air when you think of how many cheap lightening products are on the market without good research behind them. Meladerm seems to be a good product for those suffering from age spots, liver spots, sunspots, freckles, or sun damage. The product claims effectiveness on old cars, birthmarks, and acne marks as well. Meladerm is relatively affordable and has the research to back up its claims. However, obviously there are no real wrinkle fighting ingredients found in Meladerm.
