The company Mavala is based in Switzerland, and has been producing skin and beauty products since 1948. They focus particularly on beauty products for hand and nail care. Mavala produces an anti-aging hand cream known as Mavala Switzerland Hand Cream, and also an anti-aging eye cream known as Mavala Switzerland Eye Lite Eye Contour Double Cream. There does not seem to be an official Mavala website, but you can order products directly online.

Product Details

Those who market and sell the Mavala range of products online tell us that the Mavala Switzerland Hand Cream is enriched with collagen and allantoin as well as containing mineral salts and vegetable oil. They claim that the hand cream will soften dry skin, as well as prevent redness and prevent aging. Allatoin is a by product of Uric Acid, which is extracted from Urea and is said to be an effective anti-irritant. We know that with age the amount of collagen that the body produces decreases and that this can lead to aging signs on the skin, sagging and wrinkles on the face and on the hands. A number of manufacturers of hand creams are therefore now including collagen in their products. We are told that the second anti-aging product produced by Mavala, the Eye Lite and Eye Contour Double cream, is an active revitalizing cream for night time use that protects and moisturizes the delicate eye zone and minimizes the development of fine lines and wrinkles. We are not however given precise details of the ingredients in the eye cream. The hand cream and the eye cream can be purchased from a number of online shops at various prices under $15.

The Good

  • The Mavala range of skin and beauty products is an established brand. The Company was formed in 1948.
  • The products are very reasonably priced.
  • The Mavala Range of skin and beauty products can be purchased online.

The Bad

  • There is no official website for Mavala products.
  • There does not seem to be a money back guarantee, nor any kind of free gift with purchase.
  • The range of anti-aging products manufactured by Mavala does not seem to be extensive.
  • There are no precise details of the ingredients contained in the Mavala eye contour cream.

The Bottom Line

The Mavala range of skin and beauty products was established in 1948, and probably already has a loyal client base who purchase the products in stores. However if this Swiss company wants to expand worldwide they will probably need to sharpen up their marketing and the product information given. Although their products are reasonably priced, at the moment we do not have enough reliable information to recommend their eye contour and hand cream over and above other anti-aging hand and eye creams on the market today.

Hydrolyze Bottle

(Optional- For Enhanced Results): Hydrolyze

Editor's Review: 4.6 / 5.0

After looking at so many anti-aging treatments, we've seen that the delicate skin around the eyes can be a real problem area for many people. Dark circles can make you look years older, and for some people even a good night's sleep won't make them go away. That's why we were so excited to find Hydrolyze, which has been formulated by industry experts specifically as an under-eye treatment. The makers of Hydrolyze are so confident in their product that they offer potential users a Risk Free Trial so they can see the results for themselves. Hydrolyze contains the break-through ingredient Haloxyl, which has been shown to reduce under-eye discoloration between 40%-60% in a clinical case study. By offering consumers a way to erase the dark circles and wrinkles that often occur under the eyes, Hydrolyze is revolutionizing the skincare industry. >> Read more about Hydrolyze Go

On a friend’s suggestion, who is using this Mavala cosmetic, I bought the other day a bottle of Mavala Nail Hardener. When back home and about to apply the nail hardener lotion, I read the directions etc., and read with horror on the outside of the box that one of the ingredients indicated is 4.5% formaldehyde. Now, formaldehyde is a known carcinogenic substance, which I thought was banned from all cosmetic and other products. Thus, I cannot use this product and am asking for explanations on the presence of this carcinogenic substance in the Mavala nail hardener.

Many thanks for an early reply.

Regards from a very concerned user.
