Buckthorn has been said to increase the circulation in the skin’s surface, to protect against free radicals, and helps to replenish suppleness in the skin. It is also said to contain plant sterols, antioxidants, Omega 3, Omega 6, the rare Omega 7 (palmitic acid), vitamins A and E, and Carotenoids. While omega-3 is considered to be necessary for overall skin health, it is not stated whether or not it directly benefits the reduction of wrinkles. Omega 6 is also said to be an essential nutrient for overall skin health. It was stated by a source that it can help with eczema and acne, but still nothing was found about it being used as an anti-wrinkle agent. Omega 7 is an incredibly rare fatty acid. In fact, there is only one other plant source to be found in entire plant kingdom – the macademia. Palmitoleic acid is a component in our own skin and is considered a highly valuable topical agent in treating irradiation, healing wounds, burns, scalds, ulcerations, and infections. Vitamin E contains known antioxidants that can protect aging skin from free radicals. The Tri-peptide compound is a combination of peptides that are thought to help relax the facial muscles to help decrease the wrinkles.
