Linda Seidel Review

Linda Seidel is a makeup artist who started her cosmetics company to help people with severe skin problems and defects mask them. Seidel’s Natural Cover line is a collection of tinted powders and foundations aimed at hiding blemishes. Linda Seidel also produces a line of skin care products targeted towards problem skin. The skin care line includes toners, cleansers, moisturizers, and masks. The Linda Seidel skin care line consists of: Calming Toner, Cream Gel Moisturizer, Hydrating Mist, Exfoliating Skin Polish, Lathering Citrus Wash, Glycolic Treatment Cream, Invigorating Citrus Toner, Triple Action Exfoliating Mask, Eye Recovery Cream, Glycolic Texturizing Lotion, and Liquifying Remover.

The Linda Seidel website is very basic and only provides a minimal description of each product. You can purchase directly from the website but there does not appear to be a money-back guarantee or any product samples available.

Product Details

One of the most frustrating things about the Linda Seidel line is that there is very little information available about the formulations. Each product has a small description of its claimed benefits, but in some cases, the official website does not even list the active ingredients.

A few of the products are based on glycolic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid usually derived from fruits or sugarcane. Glycolic acid is frequently used in chemical peels to strip off the upper layers of dead skin. Glycolic acid must be used in the correct concentration to be effective and, unfortunately, the Linda Seidel line does not reveal the concentration. Those with sensitive skin may want to be cautious about using these products as glycolic acid can irritate the face and cause photo sensitivity. Not knowing the other ingredients in the products also leaves us unable to determine whether they might contain allergenic ingredients or low-quality “fillers”.

The Good

  • May contain some ingredients that may have a beneficial effect on facial skin.
  • Can purchase directly from company’s website.

The Bad

  • Full ingredient list is not available.
  • No money-back guarantee offered.
  • May not contain clinically-proven ingredients such as Matrixyl 3000 or Argiriline.
  • May not be appropriate for those with skin sensitivities and allergies.

The Bottom Line

There are thousands of skin care products on the market today that make promises of renewed skin and wrinkle reduction, but to understand which ones are effective, it is important to review the ingredients that are in the products. Of the few ingredients listed in the Linda Seidel line, none really excite us or lead us to believe that these products are any different than everyday department store brands. If you are looking for an anti-aging or anti-wrinkle product, look for one with collagen (to replenish the body’s natural supply), hyaluronic acid (to deeply hydrate the skin) or peptides like Matrixyl 3000 or Argiriline (to smooth wrinkles and tighten the skin). The best of these products will be produced by companies that stand behind their products with a money-back guarantee.
