The world of cosmetics and skin care is forever changing. Topical treatments and cosmetic procedures continue to offer more and more anti-aging benefits. Take IPL Photofacial treatments for example. This procedure is used to treat pigmentary dilemmas, facial redness, and common signs of aging on the chest, neck and facial skin. Obviously the purpose of IPL Photofacial treatments is to potentially clear up the skin and bring back more of an even-toned, healthy glow. Unlike most skin care products that are used daily to help maintain a clear and radiant complexion, the IPL Photofacial treatment is a procedure that’s done in some spas and dermatology clinics, though less frequently.

While there are no key ingredients involved with IPL Photofacial procedures, this skin treatment does utilize something called “Prolite Fluorescent Pulsed Light System.” More specifically, this light-based system delivers a series of light pulses, which aim to penetrate the user’s skin. With this anti-aging treatment process, there are three to five procedures involved. These IPL Photofacial treatments are attained at three-week intervals, making the entire process take a number of months. After completing all IPL Photofacial treatments, the user may experience benefits such as fewer wrinkles, increased skin firmness and a reduction in fine lines. Some individuals acquire IPL Photofacial procedures to assist with sun damage and/or rosacea. Treatments can take around 15 to 30 minutes each.

Product Details

IPL Photofacial treatments are essentially a series of light pulses delivered directly into the patient’s skin. This process is claimed to treat and even remedy skin concerns like severe sun damage, deep facial wrinkles, rosacea and hyper pigmentation. Some before and after photos are presented on the official website, revealing how IPL Photofacial treatments benefit some individuals. The actual recovery period from these treatments is stated to be “minimal.” Unfortunately the cost of IPL Photofacial procedures is not addressed on the website, but likely varies depending on the spa or clinic. As with most skin care products, the results of IPL Photofacial treatments will vary from person to person.

The Good

  • IPL Photofacial treatments may reduce severe redness in the skin of some users.
  • There are no topical skin care products involved with IPL Photofacial.
  • IPL Photofacial treatments may assist with severe sun damage.

The Bad

  • Testimonials for this professional procedure are not posted on the official website.
  • There is no price or rates posted for IPL Photofacial treatments, which means that it likely varies.
  • IPL Photofacial light pulses may not truly benefit your skin, as they don’t some individuals.
  • IPL Photofacial treatments cannot be conveniently acquired online from home.
  • This skin care treatment can take as long as several months to complete.

The Bottom Line

IPL Photofacial treatments certainly differ from many topical anti-aging products found on today’s skin care scene. While this process may be beneficial to some individuals who are afflicted with severe sun damage, rosacea or hyper pigmentation, it may also be a tad more involved than most skin treatments. When it comes to anti-aging, you may want to investigate a number of skin care products and procedures prior to choosing something as recently developed as IPL Photofacial treatments.
