HylaSkin takes a rather unique approach to the war on aging skin. HylaSkin claims to fix hydration and wrinkles from the inside out. It is a supplement that is taken orally. According to the manufacturer, hyaluronic acid, when taken internally, heals and improves skin, as and it also strengthens fingernails and hair. Hyaluronic acid is definitely an effective weapon. It can hold over 1,000 times its own weight in water and has been clinically-proven to deeply hydrate the skin. There appear to be far more studies available on hyaluronic acid’s effects when applied topically than there are when ingested orally. The website provides a link labeled clinical studies, but we were disappointed to learn that the study only tested the amount of hyaluronic acid in the bloodstream when taking HylaSkin. It said nothing about results.

HylaSkin is available for purchase on the manufacturer’s website. According to the label instructions, users should take 2 capsules 2 times daily for the first 30 days, and then 1 capsule twice a day after that. That means that the 120 capsule jar will last the first 30 days but each subsequent jar will last 2 months. At a retail price of around $40 per jar, it is not an insignificant investment to make. HylaSkin comes with an apparently unlimited warranty which is unusual and nice to see. Unhappy consumers send back the empty jar with a copy of the receipt for a refund.

Product Details

HylaSkin’s main active ingredient is hyaluronic acid, discussed above. It is a very important ingredient in top-quality anti-aging regimens. HylaSkin also contains Vitamin E which the company claims boosts the effectiveness of the acid. The other ingredients in HylaSkin are BioCell Collagen II, gelatin, rice powder, and magnesium Stearate. The BioCell Collagen appears to be a patented form of collagen, another ingredient commonly found in effective skin care formulations. However, how well it works when ingested orally is not discussed on the website.

The Good

  • Contains hyaluronic acid and collagen.
  • Available for sale on the manufacturer’s website.
  • Money-back guarantee offered.

The Bad

  • No details offered of clinical studies supporting the effectiveness of the product
  • Expensive compared with some alternatives
  • No product samples appear to be offered

The Bottom Line

HylaSkin contains some ingredients that we like to see in an anti-aging regimen. However, we would like to see more research presented regarding the product’s effectiveness before we recommend it. There are many skin care products that are applied topically that contain hyaluronic acid, collagen, and peptides, which are another important ingredient in effective wrinkle reduction. Because this is a potent oral supplement instead of a topical cream, we recommend discussing it with your doctor before starting this product.

Editor's Review: 4.6 / 5.0

After looking at so many anti-aging treatments, we've seen that the delicate skin around the eyes can be a real problem area for many people. Dark circles can make you look years older, and for some people even a good night's sleep won't make them go away.
