Gly Derm offers an array of products and is known for its main ingredient, which is glycolic acid. Glycolic acid is used to produce beautifying effects for the user’s skin and it is derived from the sugar cane plant. Gly Derm claims that all of the products in this line are hypo-allergenic and “free from harmful agents”. Gly Derm says that all of its products have been clinically tested by dermatologists and are preferred among many leading dermatology and plastic surgery centers. The Gly Derm Hydrotone moisturizer is wax-based and it is designed for extremely dry or mature skin. It is used to seal in the skin’s natural moisture to reveal a healthier layer of skin.
Product Details

The Good
- Gly Derm products have a good reputation and have several favorable reviews on a variety of websites.
- Gly Derm Hydrotone products are widely available and are reasonably priced.
The Bad
- Gly Derm Hydrotone does not have any proven anti-aging ingredients that we could discover.
- Gly Derm Hydrotone Max contains petrolatum and mineral oil, so it is not the best choice for acne-prone skin.
- The official website for Gly Derm does not contain product information, scientific data, or clinical trial results to substantiate product claims.
- Overall, this product appears to be more of a moisturizer than a wrinkle fighter.
The Bottom Line
If you are looking for a heavy moisturizing cream for your extremely dry or mature skin, Gly Derm Hydrotone Lite or Gly Derm Hydrotone Max could be for you. These are unlike a lot of moisturizers on the market because they are wax-based. Hydrotone Lite can be used on a wider variety of skin types while the Hydrotone Max can only be used on skin that is not oily or acne-prone. The product does have many favorable reviews and seems to be highly moisturizing and has shown improvements to the skin with daily use. We could not find specific information related to clinical trials of Gly Derm products, including Gly Derm Hydrotone moisturizer. Most consumer reviews say that it is a good, general overall moisturizer but you should not expect it to reduce the appearance of wrinkles or fine lines associated with aging.
