Genifique
Overview
We all know there is no shortage of skin care products that claim to restore the youthful appearance of the clear, tight, skin we all hand in our 20′s and 30′s. With the products that come out on the market every day, women have a hard time deciding which ones they want to try and which ones really provide the results they are looking for. We will take a closer look at the Lancome Genifique product to see if it really is all they claim it is.
Product Details
Genifique is a product by Lancome, with two different options. The products in the Genifique line include the Youth Activating Concentrate and the Eye Youth Activating Concentrate. Since there are only two products in the line, it makes it an easy routine for women to use compared to those with several products. Genifique claims with seven days of consistent use, women will see visibly younger and improved skin. The product claims to have ten years of research behind it, as well as using genes and proteins to stimulate the production of new, youthful skin cells, which will improve the condition of the skin and produce a younger look. According to the product website, over 4,400 genes were analyzed, and over 1,300 genes were analyzed to see the effects of the product. To use the product, simply apply a few drops of the concentrate to clean skin and work it in.
The Good
- With only two products in the line, it makes it easy for women to use.
- Lancome is a well known producer of beauty products.
The Bad
- The Genifique products are relatively pricey for most women, at $78 for the Youth Activating Concentrate, and $59 for the Eye concentrate.
- There are no customer reviews on the website.
- We cannot locate the clinical studies to back up the results the product claims to provide.
The Bottom Line
Though the science behind Lancome Genifique sounds great, without access to the actual clinical study on the young skin out of France we see referenced on the product website, we cannot say how well the product will work. With the hefty price tag on the product, at nearly $200 for both products, which must be used together to see the best results, chances are most women will pass up the chance to use it. Those who do take the plunge to purchase the product will have to use it consistently to attempt to see results.
