The Fair and White skin care line was developed by the Parisian company Labo Derma specifically for women with darker skin tones. It appears that the primary goal of this line is twofold; first, to eliminate dark pigmentation spots through whitening treatments and, second, to exfoliate the skin for a smoother, more radiant appearance. The line of Fair and White skin care products is a long one, with many products appearing to fulfill a similar function. We believe that it can be advantageous for a skin care company to focus on a small handful of high quality formulas rather than producing many products that may not live up to the highest standards. The line includes soaps, creams, serums and body lotions.

It does not appear that the products are available for sale on the product website. Instead, the company provides information about distributors that are located around the globe, offering the line for sale. Fair and White is also offered through a number of online retailers, which may be a consumer’s best bet for finding the products easily. The line is reasonably priced, ranging from around $8 to $80 at the time of this review. Unfortunately, we were unable to find customer testimonials or a money back guarantee policy for the Fair and White line.

Product Details

We were very disappointed to note that the product website was not forthcoming with information about the products, like complete ingredient lists. We believe that a full disclosure of ingredients is essential, since it is the best indication of a product’s effectiveness and safety. Without this information, a customer is at a decided disadvantage in choosing the best products for individual needs, because they have no way of knowing if the formula will be able to truly deliver on its promises.

We urge customers to look for ingredients proven to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, like matrixyl and argireline. We also like skin hydrators that effectively smooth the surface of the skin and help it retain its natural moisture, such as hyaluronic acid. We do not know if the Fair and White skin care line includes any of these ingredients, but we would like to point out that the purpose of the line primarily revolves around exfoliating and whitening, and not on eliminating the telltale signs of aging.

The Good

  • The product line caters to a select group of women with darker skin tones.
  • The products are reasonably priced and available through online retailers.

The Bad

  • The product website does not include complete ingredient lists.
  • We were unable to find a money back guarantee or customer testimonials.
  • The line does not appear to address aging issues like fine lines and wrinkles.

The Bottom Line

For women with darker skin tones who have trouble finding products designed just for them, the Fair and White skin care line may be very intriguing. However, if you are looking for a way to say goodbye to wrinkles, we don’t see anything in these products that would deliver.
