Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Protective Recovery Complex is considered a repair serum, designed to repair previous damage done to the skin, to restore a look of youth, and to keep the skin looking healthy and young as time goes on. The product is used at night because the body is better able to focus on repair as it does not have to worry about UV exposure and other environmental issues from daily life. It also claims the skin is more receptive to the ingredients in the formula that will make the skin look young again. Using the serum at night is the best way to make the most of the naturally occurring process the skin undergoes every day. The product is supposed to moisturize the skin and stimulate the skin’s natural repair mechanism.

The Good

• The product is from a well known and trusted brand.

The Bad

• It is an expensive product compared to drug store and other department store brands, ranging from $85 to over $100 depending on the merchant.
• Though the product claims to be a result of 25 years of research, including the discovery of the so called “clock genes” we were unable to locate the study.
• This product has been replaced by a new product called New Advanced Night Repair. Though Estee Lauder claims this is a new and improved version of this original product, we are unable to verify this claim.

The Bottom Line

The New Advanced Night Repair product is comparable to the Advanced Night Repair Protective Recovery Complex. While many third party reviews suggest the product works, actually repairing damage to the skin rather than covering it up and potentially contributing to the problem, we believe Estee Lauder could do more to support their claims by providing an ingredient list to show that powerful, proven ingredients are actually in the formula. Without the list of ingredients or the proof of the clinical studies, we cannot recommend this product in favor of another. While we agree you should spend more for a high quality product you know works, we believe you should spend it on something with more verifiable proof that it will work.
