The AGE Smart line is Dermalogicas premier anti-aging line so let’s take a closer look at what they offer.
The Dermalogica AGE Smart line consists of 10 different products that work independently but can also be used together for maximum results. There is a “starter kit” available that contains a cleanser, mask, antioxidant mist, regenerating serum, skin recovery cream, and a sample size tube of lip complex. No price is given on this kit but there is a tool to see if anyone in your area carries it.
One of the products that stands out in this Dermalogica AGE Smart line of products is the skin recovery cream (dynamic skin recovery spf30). This product contains hyaluronic acid, which is a well-known moisturizer that is popular in many anti-aging products. This cream claims to fight free radicals while moisturizing the skin and prevents sugar from reacting with skin proteins. There isn’t a lot of information about how this process works or if it’s beneficial, but the official website makes it sound important. We would have liked to see some more information about this process and if it actually helps in the anti-aging area.

The Bottom Line
Dermalogica products seem like they will require you to have a multi-product regimen that you will use every day for quite a long time. This can be a nuisance if you lead a very busy lifestyle and just don’t have the time to commit to a program of this type. The official website is very detailed and you can even get a consultation before you buy anything, which is very nice. If you like coordinating the use of multiple products, Dermalogica might be right up your alley, but if you like your anti-aging products to come in a single tube or jar, you might want to keep looking.
They don’t let you buy products on your own because it runs the risk of you buying something inappropriate for your skin type and then blaming the company for it not working on your skin, which is understandable. Dermalogica requires you to be “diagnosed” by a trained Dermalogica skin therapist before buying in order to guarantee the results they promise.
They also don’t require you to buy multiple products or the entire system but if you choose not to, they can’t guarantee results if you’re only using their cleanser along with another company’s exfoliant or day cream, etc.
Also, speaking to an authorized skin therapist you would find out really great double-up options like the AGE Smart cleanser which can double as a cleanser AND exfoliant which would be great for someone who wants to save time with their skin care routine.
