The Dermage Night Cream is one of the four anti-aging products offered by Dermage. Dermage claims to be “designed and tested by dermatologists for sensitive skin” and also claims to have been available only through dermatologists for the last 30 years. Every Dermage product including the Dermage Night Cream contains a very minimal amount of ingredients so they should be usable by almost everyone, even those with very sensitive skin.

The Dermage Night Cream bills itself as a very rich skin cream that doesn’t contain any heavy or greasy ingredients. The official website says this cream is “especially good” for people who have skin that has been damaged by the sun or that is very dry. The official Dermage website doesn’t have a lot of information available for consumers. Instead of large, comprehensive product descriptions, you will find just a few bullet points. These typically say things like “for dry skin” and “alcohol free”. You can find about a dozen different products on the official website in addition to the Dermage Night Cream and these are: anti-aging products, skin care products, and makeup.

Product Details

The Dermage Night Cream barely contains anything at all. The exact ingredients posted online are: Water, Petrolatum, Squalane, Mineral oil, Octyl palmitate, Lanolin alcohol, Sorbitan sesquioleate, Hydroxylated lanolin, Propylparaben, Methylparaben, Fragrance.

Basically, this product seems to be a petroleum jelly based cream with a lot of lanolin. This could make it an effective skin protectant and moisturizer but we don’t see anything that would put this in the anti-aging category. Something you will immediately notice if you visit the Dermage Night Cream section of the official website is that one of the bullet points says “Fragrance Free”. If you click the Ingredients list, however, the last ingredient is “Fragrance”. We aren’t sure if this is an oversight, but it is a little discouraging. If you are sensitive to the artificial fragrances that many beauty products add to their creams and lotions it might be hard to determine if you should try this product at all.

The Good

  • Dermage products don’t contain a lot of unnecessary ingredients.
  • This product has an official website.

The Bad

  • The Dermage Night Cream contains parabens and research shows these may be harmful to the skin if used for long periods of time.
  • Expensive. The Dermage Night Cream costs almost $50 for 2 ounces.
  • This product doesn’t contain any well known anti-aging ingredients.
  • Unclear if artificial fragrances are included or not.

The Bottom Line

It’s always nice to come across a line of products that is extremely mild on the skin. Almost anyone should be able to use the Dermage Night Cream and experience no side effects like red skin or itching. The only problem with this product is that it’s billed as an anti-aging cream but doesn’t actually contain anti-aging ingredients. We can’t recommend Dermage Night Cream as an anti-aging product but if you need a mild moisturizer and don’t mind spending $50, this might be ok. If you are looking for a true anti-aging product, we recommend a powerful wrinkle fighter that contains well-known and proven ingredients.
