Overview
Darphin first opened an institute for beauty in Paris back in 1958. Created by Pierre Darphin, this institute catered to hair, skin and body in a spa like setting. Places like this were uncommon back then and Darphin created a one of a kind business with nothing but the best staff available in areas of beauty such as cosmetology, massage, manicure, and pedicure. A stringent interview process was used for each client and helped determine what the best course of treatment would be. The factors involved in Darphin’s selection process were skin tone, lifestyle, and even genetic predisposition.
The Darphin product line was naturally the next step; to create products that people could buy and use in the comfort of their own homes. Darphin emphasizes the fact that everyone has a different lifestyle, and the manufacturer now offers a very extensive line of products that cater to individual needs.
Some products available from Darphin that are the most strongly geared toward fighting wrinkles are the Predermine Wrinkle Corrective Serum, the Predermine Replenishing Anti-Wrinkle Cream, and the Jasmine Aromatic Care. Let's take a closer look at these three products and see what they do.
Product Details
The Predermine Wrinkle Corrective Serum claims to eliminate wrinkles and lines, improve the skin's elasticity and firmness, hydrate the skin, and increase the production of collagen. The active ingredients that are listed are: Hydrating Micropatch®, Oligopeptides, Collagen, Vitamin E, Mica and Silica.
The Predermine Replenishing Anti-Wrinkle Cream is for use after the Darphin Serum, and is supposed to aid in collagen production and give your skin a younger looking tone. The active ingredients listed are: Iris, Aloe vera and Horsetail extracts, Centella asiatica, Vitamin E.
The Jasmine Aromatic Care is billed as an “aromatic, smoothing, and revitalizing essence of well-being”. It is also supposed to help improve elasticity. This product is supposed to be used at night after you have used the other two products earlier in the day. The active ingredients listed are: Jasmine essential wax, Rosewood and Orange essential oils, Raspberry Pip and Muscat oils, Avocado extracts.
The Good
- Many different products available for all skin types.
- Can order directly from the official Darphin website.
The Bad
- Extremely expensive. To have the full day treatment, which is the three products listed above, you will pay close to $500.
- The ingredients are unimpressive and not fully listed on the official Darphin website.
- To order a product, you must create an account on the website.
The Bottom Line
The Darphin line of products is very impressive and they have a long and distinguished track record. The big problem is the price and lack of ingredients listed by the manufacturer. If you are going to pay around $150 for a half-ounce vial of wrinkle fighter, you should at least know exactly what is in it. There are ingredients included that are certainly good for your skin such as aloe vera and vitamins, but there also seems to be a lack of proven wrinkle reducers found in Darphin products. If you know someone who highly recommends this product you may want to try it out, but the price and lack of cutting-edge peptides will discourage a large portion of people looking for a good wrinkle cream.
