Cosmedicine is a skin care line that is marketed through HSN and Sephora. This brand is dedicated to blending medicine and cosmetics to produce the safest skin care you can purchase without a prescription. The Cosmedicine line offers products specifically designed for oily skin, dry skin and normal skin types, with cleansers, toners, moisturizers and specialty formulas for each one. The Cosmedicine website is easy to navigate and provides ample customer testimonials to back up the claims of the products. There is also a 60-day money back guarantee provided for purchases as long as products are purchased through the company. You can find Cosmedicine products through the company website, as well as at Sephora and through HSN.
Within the complete line of Cosmedicine products, we were able to find two that appear to directly address the effects of aging on the skin. The first is a skin fortifying serum called MegaDose, which claims to protect against free radical damage, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and stimulate the production of collagen. The other is a line filler called Instant Wrinkle Write Off that supposedly can “write off” crow’s feet, laugh lines and forehead wrinkles instantly, albeit temporarily. We are always skeptical of formulas that say they can perform these sorts of feats in record time, but we will examine the Cosmedicine formulas to see if these two products can deliver what they promise.
Product Details
We are happy to see full ingredient lists for the Cosmedicine products, but we are not so impressed with what those lists include. Both the MegaDose serum and the wrinkle filler contain avena satina extract, dimethicone and silica as their primary active ingredients. None of these substances are very typical in wrinkle reducers, and we are concerned about their ability to turn back the clock on the skin very effectively. Most savvy consumers know to look for proven anti-wrinkle ingredients like argireline, matrixyl, sodium hyaluronate and soluble collagen in the formulas they purchase. None of these are included in the Cosmedicine products designed with anti-aging in mind.
The Good
- Cosmedicine provides customer testimonials and offers a 60-day money back guarantee.
- Complete ingredient lists are available for all of the products in this line.
The Bad
- No proven anti-wrinkle ingredients are listed in the formulas.
- The ingredients that are included are not typical for effective anti-aging products.
- Claims of “instant” results for the wrinkle filler are probably unrealistic, especially after reviewing active ingredients.
The Bottom Line
We are happy to see the Cosmedicine product line is so forthcoming with information about the products available. However, the two items that appear to be designed specifically with anti-aging in mind do not contain any proven ingredients in this area. We believe that savvy consumers will look for formulas that include treatments that have been shown to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles and to give a more youthful appearance to the skin. Those consumers may be better off looking elsewhere to get the best anti-aging results.

I previously used Cosmedicine Medimatte and loved it but changed as I started using a different product that has not been working. Yes I would like anti-aging properties, but at almost 40 I have oily skin and acne. I am tired of wasting money trying to find something that will control oil and clear my skin. In my past experience the medimatte did control oil. Is this the product you recommend for my oil and acne? I can always add a day and night solution from Mary Kay to give me the anti-aging property. Thanks
