Clinique is a well known cosmetic and beauty company. They produce a full line of makeup products, facial cleansers, and other skin care products. The company’s products are moderately priced but are traditionally considered a higher quality than those found in retail stores such as Wal-Mart or Target. This review will take a closer look at the Spot Corrector to see how effective it is at improving the overall appearance of the skin. This like most other products will take consistent use for several weeks to see the best results.
Product Details
The Clinique Spot Corrector is dermatologist developed and claims to be clinically proven against a leading prescription ingredient. We were not able to determine the prescription ingredient, and we couldn’t see or verify the clinical studies. The product claims to be able to produce results in four weeks, with best results seen in 12 weeks. It will improve overall skin tone by reducing skin spots and discoloration, and helping to lessen the appearance of previous acne scars. The results of the clinical study claim that 53% of people who used the product for the duration of the trial saw an improvement in their skin tone. It is suggested to use this product twice daily after using the three step cleansing system. The three step cleansing system is reviewed in another article on this website, but is designed to cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturize the skin. We’re not sure if this is a marketing ploy to get people to buy more products, or if using the products together will actually increase the overall likelihood of positive results.
The Good
- Clinique products are well known and trusted.
- The product works for all skin tones and ethnicities.
The Bad
- At nearly $50 for a bottle of this Spot Corrector, this is a borderline expensive product for many budgets.
- We see no real evidence of a clinical trial.
- There are no free trials of this product.
The Bottom Line
While the Clinique Spot Corrector certainly seems to be a product worth investing in at first glance, there are several red flags that go up for us when it comes to recommending it. We would like to be able to see a full ingredient list, to see what chemicals are going to work to improve the skin. We would like to be able to see this clinical research that proves the product effective, and we would certainly feel more comfortable if a free trial or a money back guarantee was offered. We suggest investing in a product that contains proven ingredients you know will work and making it a part of your regular skin care routine.

Will the spot corrector work on hyperpigmentation- my forehead has darkened… nothing is working.
Thank you

Cliniques’s ‘Even Better Clinical’ is their newest dark spot corrector. It’s been advertised on television recently. My supervisor was using it on a quarter sized dark spot on the side of her face, and I’ve noticed the difference. It’s amazing. She would never be seen without a full face of caked makeup before, and now she feels proud with just a pressed powder and some shadow and gloss. The old formula offered results in 12 weeks, but this clinical formula offers results in just 4 weeks. They even supply a color chart, so you can track your progress. Last time I went to Willow Grove Macy’s, they had a waiting list. I had gone to pick it up for her. They just called me today, to let me know they are fully stocked again. They said it’s selling like crazy. My boss originally asked for the traditional formula, but the consultant informed her that she doesn’t like to sell it, because the clinical formula is so much better. I’m so happy to see my boss happy, and because she’s been my friend my so long, it’s nice to see a change in her confidence. It’s amazing what the disappearance of what spot can do to uplift a person’s mood.
BTW- I just want to let you know, that it’s the 4 week formula that’s $48.50, not the 12 week formula.

Great marketing, but when you list your prescrip. ingredients and clinical studies, I would question. The only one I know that does do that is the Rodan and Fields Reverse system. I bought it from the product rep retail. No high pressure sales AT ALL! Love it!
