The Chantal Ethocyn product line is the brainchild of company founder and scientist Chantal Burnison. According to the company website, Burnison can be credited with the discovery of ethocyn in skin care. As the brand name implies, this is the ingredient that appears to be behind all of the Chantal Ethocyn products. The company began in the 1980's, and today the products are sold through some health stores, department stores and through online retailers.
When perusing the Chantal Ethocyn website for information about the company and the products that it offers, the first thing that catches our attention is how very little information is actually provided. The website boasts only two pages, each with a handful of paragraphs providing a brief explanation about the company, its founder and the products that are available. There is no information about the individual Chantal Ethocyn products, customer testimonials or a money back guarantee on purchases. In fact, consumers must hunt for the products on other websites to find a selection for sale.
Product Details
It appears that the product line includes a cleanser, masque, serum, moisturizing lotions and sprays. Because we were unable to find information about the products on the Chantal Ethocyn website, we were also unable to locate complete ingredient lists. It appears that the primary ingredient in all of the products is ethocyn; a substance which supposedly has the ability to put elasticity back into the skin. Chantal Ethocyn claims that when elasticity is returned to the skin, it will look younger, firmer and show fewer lines and wrinkles.
While we can appreciate a product that addresses this important function in maintaining skin's youthful appearance, we are skeptical about using a product that does not appear to have any other anti-aging substances in the formula. For example, collagen is another substance that is lost as we age that significantly contributes to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the skin. There are proven ingredients that can stimulate the production of collagen, such as matrixyl 3000. The Chantal Ethocyn products do not appear to contain any collagen boosters.

The Bottom Line
The Chantal Ethocyn skincare line appears to be marketing a new approach to anti-aging products that makes big promises without providing much solid information to back them up. While the ingredient ethocyn may be able to increase elasticity of the skin and reduce some of the signs of aging, there is no reason to think that this substance will work as well or better than proven anti-aging ingredients like collagen and matrixyl. We have found other products backed by better information that also supply higher quality ingredients for less money than Chantal Ethocyn.
