Vivalux Review

Have questions about whether or not Vivalux works?

Vivalux is an anti-aging wrinkle moisturizing cream. There are several websites promoting a free trial jar, but most links lead you to the official website. Cedar Key Holdings, LLC is behind the formula. It doesn’t appear that this Florida company is online.

What is Vivalux?

Vivalux is a moisturizer that’s supposed to help fight wrinkles. There are many creams like it on the market today, and we don’t really know much about what’s in it. On the very bottom of the official website there is mention of HydroFirm, Trylagen (collagen booster) and Gatuline (an oil-based flower extract). These are branded ingredients

Quick Facts on Vivalux

  • Not for use on sensitive skin.
  • Reports of scams.
  • No clear information on the manufacturer.
  • Available on Amazon.
  • The official website offers a free trial.
  • Contains branded ingredients.

What’s the Skincare Editor’s Take on Vivalux?

“It looks like there are some interesting ingredients in Vivalux,” says our Skincare Editor. “But, you have to look beyond that and when we do we find quite a few unhappy customers.”

Here’s What People Are Saying

Users report ineffectiveness, and scams.

Many people report the product doesn’t work.

  • “It doesn’t give you a lot of moisture. I feel like my skin is very dry all day.”
  • “I was very dissatisfied with the results of this cream. False advertisement!”

But, there were some people who liked their results.

  • ”Been using for a few days and like it so far. Am hopeful it will work like it says it will.”
  • “Product is thick and moisturizing. It leaves the skin feeling a bit tight which I’m assuming is to give that “lift” feeling.”

Some people felt the company is a scam.

  • ”Worse product ever! Do not buy! This whole company is a scam! This does not work, save your money!!!!”
  • “I had bought this off of the companies website and the day after I had received it they had charged almost $200.00 to my bank account. I had called them and they were not nice about this. I had only one day to try it. Now for the product review, it dried out my skin. This does not work and is clearly not better than most of the products that can be purchased in store.”

Not everyone felt this way.

  • ”I didn’t really like the free trial angle, but I was pleased with the results.”
  • “I was happy with the results I got.”

Are We Sold on Vivalux?

We had high hopes for Vivalux, but there are a number of red flags. First, multiple customers have reported no results with regular use. Second, there are complaints about cancelling the auto-ship program, which really leaves us skeptical.

Vichy Idealia Life Serum Review

  • Widely available worldwide.
  • Contains irritating fragrance.

What’s the Skincare Editor’s Take on Vichy Idealia Life Serum?

“Vichy Idealia Life Serum has a decent following in Europe and it has become more popular in the United States in recent years. Most of this seems to be due to the moisturizing properties of the product rather than any anti-aging effects,” says our Skincare Editor.

Here’s What People Are Saying

Many users were felt the product was little more than a standard moisturizer, while others complained that the ingredients were uninspired.

People complained about the limited results when using the product.

  • “My friends and family…didn’t see much by way of results.”
  • “I didn’t experience dramatic changes such as refined pores, or dark spots fading.”

Others felt it made their skin glow.

  • “My skin appears brighter, more hydrated, and my wrinkles and pore size have diminished slightly.”
  • “I have been using it for nine months and my complexion looks great.”

Several thought the ingredients were overrated.

  • “The pink sparkly minerals made it look pretty but they didn’t seem to help my skin.”
  • “It’s a very boring formula whose claims are far more fascinating than its contents.”

Others disagreed.

  • “I was told by my esthetician that my skin is the best that she’s seen during a facial.”
  • “It contains mica for a subtle, radiant glow.”

Are We Sold on Vichy Idealia Life Serum?

Have we become converts to Vichy Idealia Life Serum? Not exactly. While the moisturizing benefits were fairly well established, the other claims don’t seem to be backed up as much as we would like with customer support.

Truvisage Review

Have questions about whether or not Truvisage works?

Truvisage is an anti-aging skin cream made by MySkinMD. Their official website is a giant advertisement for skin care products and doesn’t really provide information about who they are as a company. The official Truvisage domain was first registered in 2012, so the company/brand is still fairly young, though the MySkinMD domain was registered in 2000.

What is Truvisage?

Truvisage cream is an anti-aging skincare cream that claims to provide Botox-like results without the hassle and expense of injections. Ingredients include the patented Matrixyl 3000, ginseng extract, concentrated green tea extract, pomegranate extract, and chamomile extract. The patented ingredient helps the body to produce collagen, while other ingredients help to heal sun damage, improve moisture retention, and help smooth and soften the skin.

Quick Facts on Truvisage

  • Free trial available, just pay the cost of shipping and handling.
  • Lots of consumer complaints on scam sites.
  • Can’t buy product directly – must use free trial option with auto shipment.
  • Little information about the manufacturer available.

What’s the Skincare Editor’s Take on Truvisage?

“While the ingredients look nice, the lack of information about the company is a concern. Combine this with the required auto shipment and scam reports, and we’re skeptical,” says our Skincare Editor.

Here’s What People Are Saying

Many people have issues with the fact that you only get a 14-day trial, and the price of the product if you choose to continue with the auto shipment.

People are not satisfied with the 14-day trial.

  • ”For a product that says you should see results within two months, 14 days isn’t long enough to really evaluate for effectiveness.”
  • “14 day trial? Why can’t I just buy the stuff outright?”

Not all people seem to be bothered by this fact.

  • ”They offer a two month guarantee, so I didn’t mind trying it.”
  • “The trial was long enough for me to see that it wasn’t going to be worth my money.”

The price is fairly expensive for a moisturizing or anti-aging cream.

  • “A one-month supply is $95.00. If I wanted to spend that much, I’d go to a trusted department store brand.”
  • “It was expensive and didn’t do anything for me.”

Price wasn’t an issue for some, however.

  • ”Yes, it’s pricey, but you can save money by buying up to a three month supply at one time.”
  • “You get what you pay for, and I don’t mind paying for quality.”

Are We Sold on Truvisage?

The truth is, we’re weary of products that don’t provide information about who they are as a company. We do like the two-month money back guarantee, but there are lots of reports of issues canceling the auto shipment and actually getting refunds, which is a big concern.

Tru Belleza Review

What does Tru Belleza really do?

Tru Belleza is an anti-aging cream sold through various websites with a free trial. At this time, there does not appear to be an official website for the product as all links take you to a completely different treatment. As such, we cannot locate any information about the company that actually makes it.

What is Tru Belleza?

Tru Belleza is an anti-aging cream. It contains argireline, trylagen, pentavitin, glucare, lipoguard ubiquinone and vitamin E. Argireline helps in the prevention of expression lines and wrinkles by inhibiting muscle movement. Trylagen is a combination of ingredients designed to help boost and restore collagen production to keep the skin elastic. Pentavitin is a natural plant derived ingredient that moisturizes the skin. Lipogaurd is a balanced ratio of CoQ10 and vitamin E that is used to provide nutrition.

Quick Facts on Tru Belleza

  • No official website.
  • Only available through free trial program with auto-shipments.
  • Several reports of scams.
  • Facebook page dedicated to Tru Belleza scam.

What’s the Skincare Editor’s Take on Tru Belleza?

“There are some intriguing ingredients in Tru Belleza,” says our Skincare Editor. “This is certainly not your average formula.”

Here’s What People Are Saying

People were not happy about the autoship requirement or the ineffectiveness of the product.

Several people were disappointed in the fact that you can’t just order the product directly and be done with it.

  • ”Didn’t like the autoshipment requirement. It was difficult to cancel and I got charged anyway.”
  • “This ‘free’ trial was nothing but a scam.”

Fortunately, not everyone felt this way.

  • ”I didn’t mind the autoship approach. It was easy for me to cancel when I was done with it.”
  • “I went through my trial jar and kept the service for a few months before I canceled without issue.”

Lots of people said the product was not effective.

  • ”I used this product for a month and didn’t see any changes in my skin.”
  • “I don’t feel like this did anything for my skin at all.”

But, there were plenty who were pleased with their results.

  • ”I loved the way it made my skin feel soft and smooth.”
  • “I felt it working after the first week – I was surprised.”

Are We Sold on Tru Belleza?

Honestly, we believe there may be better products out there today, not only in terms of pricing and ease of ordering, but in terms of effectiveness. We are not against Tru Belleza, because there are some positive reviews. It’s just that there are also some complaints about the formula and the company.

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Review

Are you curious about Ole Henriksen Truth Serum and what it does?

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum is a Vitamin C based collagen booster. It is part of an entire line of products. The brand comes from a Scandinavian skin care expert of the same name. He’s been working in the industry for more than 40 years, and developed the products as a result of dealing with his own skin care issues. The brand was officially launched in 1984, after opening his Beverly Hills Spa in 1975.

What is Ole Henriksen Truth Serum?

This product is a collagen serum that’s supposed to help fill in lines and wrinkles and plump the skin, which makes it an ideal anti-aging product. It is made with a proprietary blend of five sources of vitamin C. Ingredients include Water, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Calcium Acerbate, Sorbitol, Glycerin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Euphrasis Offinalis Extract, Rosa Canina Fruit Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Oleth-20, Hydroxyethylcellulose, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Benzophenone-4, Sodium Hyaluronate, Thioctic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Citric Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Limonene, Linalool, Citral, Fragrance, Yellow 6 (CI 15985).

Quick Facts on Ole Henriksen Truth Serum

  • Vitamin C serum.
  • Available in multiple sizes.
  • Features potential skin irritants like color, fragrance, limonene and linalool.
  • Available online and in stores from multiple retailers.
  • Main ingredient is water.

What’s the Skincare Editor’s Take on Ole Henriksen Truth Serum?

“We like the use of natural ingredients in the formula, but the use of fragrance and color can be irritating for those with sensitive skin. It is definitely not a product for all skin types. If you have sensitive skin, test first,” says our Skincare Editor.

Here’s What People Are Saying

People say it goes on sticky and stays that way, and causes break outs.

  • ”I never really get any pimples or breakouts, but as soon as I started this, my face got horribly covered in red dots and zits and other weird spots.”
  • “Broke me out in little red pimples and my mad my skin really sensitive.”

But, others didn’t have issues with acne or sensitive skin.

  • ”I love this serum. It absorbs quickly and leave my skin soft and smooth. I feel like it helps with discoloration and keeps my skin bright and young looking.”
  • “Love this serum. My skin looks so much healthier. Looks better, brighter.”

Lots of people didn’t like the sticky feelings that came along with using this vitamin C serum.

  • ”It had amazing reviews and such amazing claims, but it always went on sticky and had no effect even after using it for a month. I have acne scars, large pores, and some hyper pigmentation, and using this twice a day did not change the appearance of my skin at all. Also I did not like the scent of this.”
  • ”It does what it says however, it goes on sticky and stays that way … And after only a few days use I broke out … Not for me.”

Others don’t seem to mind the consistency.

  • ”In just 2 weeks, I’ve noticed a difference in my skin– more radiant and lines are minimized.”
  • “I’ve always considered this to be my favorite “multivitamin” serum. Fantastic hydration, vitamin c that isn’t harsh on my skin, soothing, and healing.”

Are We Sold on Ole Henriksen Truth Serum?

Vitamin C is definitely good for the skin, but with the reports of breakouts and sensitive skin issues, and the reports of sticky feeling consistency, we’re just not convinced it’s better than any other vitamin C serum out there on the market today.

Nivea Q10 Plus Review

Wondering how Nivea Q10 Plus works?

Nivea Q10 Plus is a full line of products in the United States. It includes body lotion, skin firming cellulite cream, and a cellulite serum. Though it’s no longer available in the United States, there was also at one point an anti-wrinkle cream. It’s still available in other countries, and on Amazon. Nivea is a German personal care brand that specializes in skin and body care. The company was founded in 1882 by a pharmacist, but it was first introduced in 1911.

What is Nivea Q10 Plus?

Nivea Q10 Plus anti-wrinkle cream is currently manufactured outside the United States and not available here. This cream combines CoQ10 with creatine. These ingredients are naturally found in the skin, but with age, their concentrations decline. The cream replaces the natural loss, to help you keep your skin looking youthful and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Quick Facts on Nivea Q10 Plus

  • The product is no longer made in the US.
  • Contains natural ingredients.
  • You can purchase it on Amazon.
  • Has a decent Amazon rating.

What’s the Skincare Editor’s Take on Nivea Q10 Plus?

“We like formulas that replace nutrients our skin loses over time with age. But, this one leaves us up in the air because is no longer promoted by Nivea and it’s made in Thailand,” says our Skincare Editor.

Here’s What People Are Saying

Some people are concerned with the authenticity of the product when ordered on Amazon, and others are concerned with the amount of fragrance in the formula.

Amazon users got a mixed bag of products. While the product claims to be made in Germany, that’s not always what you get.

  • ”I did not receive Genuine German Nivea – I instead received a made-in-Thailand product written entirely in Thai. I assumed that no matter the seller, I would be getting my dearest made-in-Germany, German Nivea – instead, I got an inferior product.”
  • “Different from the Made in Germany this are made in Poland. Not the same effect.”

Others didn’t care about where it came from, noting no real difference in formula.

  • ”Anecdotally, it appears to look, act and smell the same.”
  • “The best and leaves my skin feeling petal smooth. My skin more glamorous than ever.”

Many people reported there is too much fragrance in the formula, which makes it difficult to use.

  • ”Too much fragrance”
  • “The scent is very strong, which irritates me and gives me a headache.”

And yet, there were also plenty of users who didn’t mind the fragrance at all.

  • ”It is one of the best night creams that I have used, and I wish it were more widely available. It makes my skin much softer than any other cream I have used as a night cream that I recall.”
  • “I have been using this cream for 15 years. It is very effective in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around and under the eyes. Not so good on deeper wrinkles around the mouth and chin.”

Are We Sold on Nivea Q10 Plus?

It seems to work well for those who are able to get genuine Germany Nivea Q10 Plus, but for those who don’t get their hands on the genuine product- it seems to be hit or miss.

LMage Review

Do you wonder how Lmage works?

Lmage is an anti-aging skin care cream. There isn’t a lot of information available about the company who makes it, or an easy to locate official website. It appears to be one of those products with a free trial where you only pay shipping, and are enrolled in an auto shipment program. The closest thing we were able to find to an official website reveals the domain was registered in February 2016, suggesting the product is fairly new.

What is Lmage?

Lmage cream is an anti-aging moisturizing cream. It contains wheat germ oil, collagen, shea butter, PMP, and MSM. Wheat germ oil is full of B vitamins which help reduce the signs of aging, while collagen helps keep the skin elasticity that it loses with age. Shea butter is rich in vitamin A which is an antioxidant to fight the free radicals that cause damage to the skin. PMP helps protect the skin from developing lines and wrinkles, while also helping to reduce the appearance of current lines and wrinkles. MSM helps the body make its own antioxidants, and helps treat a number of skin conditions, including acne. It promises botox like results without injections.

Quick Facts on Lmage

  • Uses natural ingredients, but it’s unknown what PMP actually is.
  • No information on the company that makes the product.
  • Reports of scams.
  • No official website – several promote a free trial.

What’s the Skincare Editor’s Take on Lmage?

“There is a distinct lack of information about the company that makes this product, and when it first became available on the market. This, combined with the scam reports, suggests that you may want to proceed with caution,” says our Skincare Editor.

Here’s What People Are Saying

People complain about pricing and effectiveness.

People are unhappy with the pricing and the auto shipment program. After a 14-day free trial where you pay $4.95 for shipping and handling, you’re charged $94.97 for a month’s supply, until you call to cancel.

  • ”That’s an expensive cream. If I’m going to spend that much, I’m going with a well-known and respected brand – not some random company few have heard of.”
  • “14 days isn’t long enough to really tell if something like this works, and for that price tag – ouch.”

Others, didn’t think the price was a big deal.

  • ”About a week after my trial started, I decided to keep it. I noticed a difference in my skin.”
  • “You pay well over $100 for department store products – and you get what you pay for. I think it is a good deal.”

Many people say the product didn’t help their skin at all.

  • ”This didn’t do anything for my skin.”
  • “Natural ingredients or not – I feel like I could have gotten better results with something I could make in my kitchen.”

Others claim they saw a difference within a few days.

  • ”Within a few days after using this daily, I noticed my skin felt softer and the lines and wrinkles weren’t as deep.”
  • “I love the way this product makes my skin look and feel.”

Are We Sold on Lmage?

Are we convinced Lmage is the perfect anti-aging cream? Not exactly. While we like the fact that it contains all natural ingredients, we must see proof of effectiveness, and we must know more about the company who makes it and where they come from. The fact that you cannot just purchase this product, and there doesn’t seem to be any kind true official website for it sends red flags up.

What Do We Suggest?

We’ve reviewed a lot of anti-aging and beauty products this year, and only one really makes the cut – BioGeniste. It contains clinically tested ingredients, and the customer reviews are amazing.

Levela Review

Curious about Levela?

Levela is an anti-aging wrinkle cream that is designed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, restore the suppleness of skin, increase hydration, and improve overall tone of skin. The manufacturer claims that within a four-week span, skin will look younger and healthier.

What is Levela?

Levela is made by Infinite Youth, LLC. The company claims it is the most powerful anti-aging solution available and that results are apparent within seconds. The ingredients include water, polymethylsesquioxane, propanediol, glycerin resveratrol, strelizia nicolai seed aril extract, ubiquinone, caffeine, sodium hyaluronate, disodium EDTA, carbomer, magnesium aspartate, zinc gluconate, copper gluconate, sucrose stearate, xanthan gum, jojoba seed oil, polysorbate 20, cetyl alcohol, dimethicone, tocopheryl acetate, propyl gallate, squalane, beeswax, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, aminomethyl propanol, sodium bicarbonate, dimethyl sulfone, phenoxtethanol, decylene glycol, 1,2-hexanediol, citric acid, sodium acrylate, and acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer.

Quick Facts on Levela

  • Features several hydrating ingredients such as vitamin E and jojoba oil.
  • May reduce the need for multiple products because it addresses several concerns.
  • The cost is moderately high.
  • The company is not well established in the beauty industry.

What’s the Skincare Editor’s Take on Levela?

“Anti-aging products are increasing in popularity. Unfortunately, most products only target one or two issues. This one targets several which is ideal, but a lot of people say it doesn’t work for them,” says our Skincare Editor.

Here’s What People Are Saying

There are complaints about the side effects and effectiveness.

Some people felt the side effects were too overwhelming to ignore.

  • “I put this stuff on following directions and had to moisturise within 10 minutes because my skin felt itchy and tight.”
  • “I use it and everything seems just fine until the next day, I woke up to see my face covered with pimples on my forehead and chin.”

Many others had no issues with side effects or interactions.

  • “I have been using this product for a few months and I love it.”
  • “It does not interfere with other skin treatments I happen to be using at the same time.”

Numerous people have said they’ve seen no results even with consistent use.

  • “I have used it 3 or 4 weeks now and have not noticed any change in my skin.”
  • “After using this product for one week saw no decrease in wrinkles or fine lines on face at all.”

But some people were pleased with the effects of the product.

  • “I have used Levela for almost a year, and it really works will for me.”
  • “My face feels smooth and the frown lines are almost gone! LOVE THIS PRODUCT!”

Are We Sold on Levela?

Because so many people experienced side effects that were in direct opposition to the stated purpose of Levela, we find it difficult to recommend this product. That combined with the complaints that it simply didn’t work and the poor customer service experiences are worrisome.

ROC Retinol Correxion Eye Cream Review

Have questions about how ROC Retinol Correxion Eye Cream

ROC Retinol Correxion Eye Cream is a moisturizing cream specifically designed to be safe enough to use around the eyes. It is designed to help get rid of puffiness, dark circles, and lines and wrinkles. ROC was founded in 1957, and was created by a pharmacist.

What is ROC Retinol Correxion Eye Cream?

ROC Retinol Correxion Eye Cream is a non-greasy moisturizing cream, designed specifically for the area around the eyes. It is supposed to help reduce and even remove the appearance of wrinkles, lines, and dark circles. It contains Water, Glycerin, Lactose, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, PEG-8, Stearyl Alcohol, Panthenol, Tromethamine, Carbomer, Isopropyl Myristate, Methylparaben, Disodium EDTA, BHT, Propylparaben, Copper Gluconate, Magnesium Aspartate, Polysorbate 20, Retinol, Chlorhexidine Digluconate, Phenoxyethanol, Zinc Gluconate.

Quick Facts on ROC Retinol Correxion Eye Cream

  • Available at numerous retailers online and off.
  • Affordably priced at under $20 for 0.5 ounce tube.
  • Contains fragrance which may be bothersome to some.
  • Retinol is often harsh.

What’s the Skincare Editor’s Take on ROC Retinol Correxion Eye Cream Cream?

“Retinol is a good anti-aging product, but it does cause irritation for some and that could be an issue when applied near the eyes,” says our Skincare Editor.

Here’s What People Are Saying

Some people experienced no results, while others experienced irritation.

  • ”I used ROC religiously, every night, until the tube was bone dry… the bags under my eyes saw little (if any) improvement. While I didn’t have any irritation to the product, it didn’t really help the way I was hoping and the way some reviews claimed it would. What I’ve found from dozens of tests with a number of eye creams, is that there really isn’t a magic bullet for the problems with aging and under-eye circles.”
  • “I haven’t noticed any visible change in wrinkles around my eyes. Since I am 60+ I am thinking these products are geared for younger persons. I have not experienced any redness that often comes when using a retinol product. I will still continue to use twice a day until the tube is used up. I will not purchase again.”

Not everyone feels this way.

  • ”Not a miracle but helpful. Others have a smell that bothers my allergies – this one does not!”
  • “Tried them all. Almost a year. Drug store and many higher end brands. I find this makes a difference.”

Many people experienced side effects.

  • ”This product burned my under eye area and made me peel 🙁 not cool. I only used a little bit and that’s all it took.”
  • “I returned it so I have no idea if it works- it was wayyyy to loaded with fragrance that I couldn’t sleep.”

Thankfully, not everyone experienced these issues.

  • ”I have very sensitive skin on my face….allergic to many facial products but RoC Products work well for me.”
  • “It’s good. I still look old and tired. I actually am old and tired, so what are you going to do? I buy this to say I am making the effort.”

Are We Sold on ROC Retinol Correxion Eye Cream?

While we know retinol is a good anti-aging product, this one seems to be hit or miss because of the fact that some people don’t get results, but others experience harsh side effects with it. Even if the product works, it isn’t worth it if it causes irritation to the eyes.

There were some issues that make us hesitant to endorse all of the products without reservation. That being said, some looked quite promising.

Idrotherapy Review

Are you curious about whether or not Idrotherapy works?

Idrotherapy is promoted as a wrinkle cream that can reduce the appearance of wrinkles by 45 percent in only one month. The company claims it will also makes users appear more youthful, reduces the appearance of fine lines, prevents signs of future aging, and reduces the appearance of sunspots.

What is Idrotherapy?

Idrotherapy wrinkle reducer is also supposed to improve skin texture, and hydrate dry skin. The primary ingredients are Renovage and Matrixyl 3000. The company claims the product is stronger than Retinol and doesn’t have any of the potential side effects.

Quick Facts on Idrotherapy

  • Full ingredient list is not available.
  • Ingredients that are discussed are promising.
  • Money back guarantee appears to be challenging.
  • Elevated price point with little data to justify.

What’s the Skincare Editor’s Take on Idrotherapy?

According to our Skincare Editor, “The ingredients the company provides have shown promise, but there is simply not enough information to justify the cost. The website is also concerning because of the extreme lack of detailed information to support the company’s claims.”

Here’s What People Are Saying

Many people didn’t see the results they expected.

  • “It doesn’t work at all. There hasn’t been the slightest change.”
  • “I have tried this product and it doesn’t work. I have seen no results at all.”

Others felt the marketing lived up to the hype.

  • “I can feel the product tightening the skin after application and have seen slight improvements in skin tone and lessening of wrinkles after only one week.”
  • “This is my little subtle face lift in a jar and makes me feel fantastic.”

The cost and difficulty receiving a refund were a major concern.

  • “It is a lot of money for something that I feel is inferior to in store products. Hang on to your money for a better choice.”
  • “Really expensive also for the little dot in the jar.”

Others felt the price was fair.

  • “It is more expensive than other products, but you get what you pay for.”
  • “I liked that there was a money-back guarantee even though I didn’t try to use it.”

Are We Sold on Idrotherapy?

Are we handing over our money to Idrotherapy to fight the aging process? We kept our money in the bank. The company doesn’t show the full ingredient list, they have no clinical testing cited, and the website isn’t informative enough. When combined with the hefty price tag, we simply have too many reservations to recommend it.

Filorga Time-Filler Review

Curious about Filorga Time-Filler?

Filorga Time-Filler is an anti-aging wrinkle cream that’s designed to target contraction wrinkles, wrinkles caused by dryness, and wrinkles caused by sagging. Filgora also has the Time-Filler Eyes product that’s supposed to help with lines around the eyes. This is a French skincare brand, that was first founded in 1978, with a cosmetic doctor of cell biology at the helm. In 2007, they became the first medical lab to launch an anti-aging cosmetic range for the general public.

What is Filorga Time-Filler?

Filgora Time-Filler is an anti aging cream that comes from a medical lab. It contains a lot of ingredients, including aqua, glycerin, butylene glycol, dicaprylyl carbonate, isododecane, squalane, methyl methacrylate crosspolymer, hydroxyethyl acrylate/sodium acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer, cetyl ethylhexanoate, imperata cylindrica root extract, dimethicone, orbignya oleifera seed oil, dimethicone/bis-isobutyl PPG-20 crosspolymer, sucrose palmitate, parfum, stearalkonium hectorite, glyceryl linoleate, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride, tocopheryl acetate, chlorphenesin, propylene glycol, polysorbate 60, sorbitan isostearate, xanthan gum, silica, prunus amygdalus dulcis oil, biosaccharide gum-1, hydrogenated vegetable oil, and more.

Quick Facts on Filorga Time-Filler

  • Features a botox like peptide to help relax the skin.
  • Reasonably priced, but conversion rates could change the price daily.
  • Filled with a ton of synthetic ingredients.
  • Contains hydrogenated oils.
  • We didn’t find mention of fragrance or other irritants.

What’s the Skincare Editor’s Take on Filorga Time-Filler?

“Botox is expensive, and this is marketed as an alterative because it has ‘botox like qualities’. While some people have been happy with it, others are disappointed, so it seems to be a crap shoot as to whether or not it works,” says our Skincare Editor.

Here’s What People Are Saying

Many people say there is too much fragrance in the product.

  • ”The product is heavy with fragrance and sometimes it causes me to break out. I wish I’d saved my ($$$) money.”
  • “When I started to use it on my face i was disappointed as initially it feels like an excellent moisturiser but as it is absorbed, the skin feels a little dry and my skin needs something more.”

Others weren’t at all bothered by the fragrance.

  • ”Excellent cream. Actually minimized deep lines.”
  • “I’m in my mid 40’s and was looking for a great moisturizer to wear everyday and I have found it! It is not to heavy to wear with makeup. It really does help with small wrinkles and makes your skin smooth. I have been using it for about a month now.”

People say they haven’t seen results with consistent use.

  • “Not sure yet if it meets expectations….have been using for a month….I can’t say if I see a difference or not.”
  • “Have been using this cream for the last 3 months with no difference to my skin at all. I discovered (after purchase) that it is not animal friendly, so even if cream had made any improvement to my skin i would not buy again.”

Not everyone feels this way, however.

  • ”Works better than the American products on her skin. Doesn’t make her break out. She wishes she could find this product on American store shelves.”
  • “The only thing I would recommend is to make sure your cover-up or BB cream you wear on top of it has sun screen in it because this moisturizer does not contain sun screen. Great product and would definitely recommend!”

Are We Sold on Filorga Time-Filler?

Because of the use of so many synthetic chemicals, we have a hard time recommending this product. This combined with the complaints about effectiveness lead us to believe the product just doesn’t live up to the hype. If it worked as well as botox, people would be lining up to buy it.

Encante Review

Are you ready to learn more about Encante?

Encante is an anti-aging serum. There are several websites that promote it and its free trial autoshipment program. As such, we cannot determine which of them is the official website. None of the websites provide any information about who the manufacturer really is, or how long they’ve been in business. A look at WHOIS records shows these websites started coming online in September 2015. This tells us the product hasn’t been around that long.

What is Encante?

Encante is an anti-aging serum that claims to be made with clinically tested ingredients. Unfortunately, none of the websites that are promoting this “better than Botox” skincare product actually tells us what is in the formula. It claims to help improve tightness and smoothness of the skin, decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and decrease the appearance of dark circles around the eyes. We cannot comment on how effective the formula might be without knowing what’s in it, and this is a major issue for us.

Quick Facts on Encante

  • Multiple websites promoting free trials.
  • No information about the ingredients used in the serum.
  • No information about the company that makes the serum.
  • Claims to provide better than Botox results.

What’s the Skincare Editor’s Take on Encante?

“Encante is one of many products out there promising better than Botox results. If it worked as well as it claimed, why are so many people still out there investing in Botox?,” says our Skincare Editor.

Here’s What People Are Saying

Several users report the serum did nothing to improve the look and feel of their skin.

  • ”I used this daily for over a month with no change in the appearance of my skin.”
  • “I really feel like this didn’t do anything for my skin.”

Other users swore by it.

  • ”I saw results almost instantly.”
  • “This is totally worth the investment. My skin looks great.”

Lots of people felt the company is a scam.

  • ”I was charged even before my trial window closed.”
  • “I couldn’t cancel in my window because they were unresponsive.”

Still, many users reported no issues with the ordering system and customer service.

  • ”I was able to cancel without any problems, and was never charged a dime.”
  • “I cancelled my service without issue.”

Are We Sold on Encante?

This could be the best product in the world, and we still wouldn’t feel right recommending it. Why? Because there’s no information about the ingredients in the formula, or the company that makes the product. This creates major issues with credibility, and the fact that many people reported being scammed makes us cautious.

Nanoblur Review

Curious about Nanoblur and how it works?

Nanoblur is a wrinkle reducing anti-aging blur cream from Indeed Laboratories. It is available online and in various stores for under $20 a tube. Each tube contains one ounce of product. It is the company’s flagship product, and launched in 2011, as the industry’s first skin blurring cream. It claims to be able to give you flawless photo-ready skin in seconds.

What is Nanoblur?

Nanoblur contains the following ingredients Water/Aqua/Eau, Adipic Acid/Neopentyl Glycol Crosspolymer Dimethicone, Glycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, VP/VA Copolymer, Cyclohexasiloxane, Sodium Acrylate/Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Amodimethicone, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Isohexadecane, Polysilicone-11, Polysorbate 80, Citric Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Chlorphenesin, Phenoxyethanol. It is a creamy white product, close to lotion in texture and thickness. Because it has no scent, it is suitable for both men and women.

Quick Facts on Nanoblur

  • Can be used on all skin types.
  • Fragrance free.
  • Reports of ineffectiveness.
  • Marketed as a unisex product.
  • No parabens are used in the formula.
  • All ingredients are listed on the official website.

What’s the Skincare Editor’s Take on Nanoblur?

“We like that it is unscented, but reports of difficulty using and ineffectiveness make us skeptical, even at the affordable price point,” says our Skincare Editor.

Here’s What People Are Saying

Some people said the blur cream just didn’t work for them, no matter how they tried it.

  • ”At best blurs some of your larger pores and mattifies the skin. Horrible over or mixed with foundation just couldn’t get it to work at all.”
  • “I tried using it several ways, and never found one that I liked. I found it heavy and tacky, and actually threw the tube out before finishing it.”

Fortunately, there were others who felt the product did a good job.

  • ”It takes away the shine and has a minimal, but nice blurring effect that doesn’t look like makeup.”
  • “I use it under mineral foundation and mineral concealer as a base. it does smooth out wrinkles and helps apply the mineral makeup more evenly.”

Many people said it didn’t work at all.

  • ”This stuff is awful. I’m a makeup artist/ professional and thought I would give this a try. Even with the smallest amount it clumps up and looks caked. Doesn’t even mix well with other products or work overtop of makeup. Also makes skin look very dry and shows every line. Loser of a item… don’t waste your money on this one. There are too many better items on the market that work much better than this.”
  • “It didn’t work at all. It’s a small tube that not worth the price nor the shipping. It did nothing for my skin.”

Others, however, were pleased with their results.

  • ”It is not a miracle product, but it works. It provides a softer image. I agree it works best when you pat it on. You do not have to use a lot to get results.”
  • “The Nanoblur did blur the lines the way it was supposed to but I have an exceptionally rough face and it wasn’t as effective as I had hoped.”

Are We Sold on Nanoblur?

Not exactly. We like that it does help remove the appearance of fine lines for some users, but it seems to dry out skin and cause issues when worn under makeup. Several people reported issues with getting it to work, no matter the various application methods they tried. We like that it is fragrance free, and affordably priced, but those things aren’t important if it doesn’t work.

Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Review

Wonder how Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference works?

Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference is a full skin care product line from Elizabeth Arden. The brand was founded in 1910 by Florence Nightingale Graham. It was originally founded as the Red Door salon on Fifth Avenue. It sold to Eli Lily and Company in 1971 for $38 million, and it was sold again to Faberge in 1987 for $657 million. The company operates today, after being sold to Unilever, and in 2003 was purchased by FFI. They still own the company today.

What is Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference?

Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference has several products, including BB creams, moisturizers, cleansers, and toners. Products are available for combination, dry, and oily skin. Some products are suitable for all skin types. Many are geared toward anti-aging – with moisturizers in particular focused on preventing signs of aging like wrinkles and fine lines. Ingredients include vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, licorice extract, and biometric peptide.

Quick Facts on Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference

  • BB Cream contains SPF 30 to help protect against sun damage.
  • Products are still tested on animals, though the corporation is phasing this out over time.
  • Some products contain parabens.
  • There is a money back guarantee.
  • The company has more than 90 years in the business.
  • Irritants like limonene, linalool and fragrance are used in products.

What’s the Skincare Editor’s Take on Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference?

“Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference products cover a large number of potential skin conditions. However, there are multiple ingredients that could cause skin irritation, often in the same formula. That’s not what customers are looking for,” said our Skincare Editor.

Here’s What People Are Saying

People complained about the way their skin felt when using the product.

  • ”When I put it on, my face gets this ‘stiff’ feeling, as if a thin layer of something is constantly on them.”
  • “This cream dried my skin out very badly. This winter I discovered that glycerin does not work well with my skin and I didn’t notice that it was the second ingredient in this cream.”

Others disagree.

  • ”It makes me look better after 5 minutes after application! And I really look younger!”
  • “Visible Difference brought so much life back to my face….moisture, helped my deep wrinkles and brought color back to my complexion.”

Several hated the smell.

  • ”I just purchased this cream so too early to tell if effective or not, but will not purchase again. It smells absolutely awful!!!”
  • “I cannot tell that it is any better than any other moisturizer, and it smells absolutely terrible.”

For some, the scent wasn’t an issue.

  • ”I’ve been using VD Refining Moisture Cream Complex for 31 years. I’m 52 now, and no one would EVER know.”
  • “I have used this product on and off since I was 15 years old. I am now in my early 40s and I am regularly mistaken for someone younger. I love how soft the skin on my face feels and I owe it all to this product.”

Are We Sold on Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference?

We are skeptical about recommending the Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference line. Irritants can actually cause skin damage that may promote signs of premature aging. If you’re trying to reverse the hands of time this is not what you want from a product.

Dermagen IQ Review

Wonder how Dermagen IQ works?

Dermagen IQ is an anti-wrinkle cream. Several websites are online promoting a free trial of the product. Some lead to the actual official website, but others take the customer to products not associated with it. Beauty & Truth is the company behind the formula. We don’t know when the business started, but we do know it hit online in 2011.

What is Dermagen IQ?

Dermagen IQ is a “Age Correction Cream” from Beauty & Truth. Though no complete list of ingredients is provided, we know the formula contains peptides and collagen. There’s nothing on parabens, fragrance, other irritants or animal testing.

Quick Facts on Dermagen IQ

  • Dermagen IQ is made by Beauty & Truth.
  • We have no idea if irritants are used.
  • Animal testing is not mentioned.
  • The price is not listed.
  • May only be available as a free trial offer.

What’s the Skincare Editor’s Take on Dermagen IQ?

“Given the lack of ingredient information and the fact that you have no idea the cost of Dermagen IQ, we are skeptical about this one,” says our Skincare Editor.

Here’s What People Are Saying

There were several reports of the company being a scam.

  • ”The free trial is nothing of the sort. I was charged the next day, and had a hard time canceling the auto shipment.”
  • “These people are nothing but scammers.”

There were a few, however, who didn’t feel this way.

  • “I got the product and used it for a while, then canceled with no problem.”
  • “I canceled and was never charged more than my $4.95.”

Lots of people said the product just didn’t work for them.

  • ”I know vitamin C is good for the skin, but there’s nothing special about this cream.”
  • “I could get better results with drugstore products.”

And others said they loved their results.

  • ”This helped my skin feel softer and smoother in just a couple of uses.”
  • “My skin feels so much better since I started using this product.”

Are We Sold on Dermagen IQ?

Well, it’s true that peptides are good for the skin, and there are many anti-aging products out there with it. But, the reason we are hesitant about this one is the lack of information on the ingredient list and the fact that you cannot purchase without agreeing to an auto shipment.

Derma Nova Review

What does Derma Nova really do?

Derma Nova is an anti-aging cream marketed for both men and women. It is an as seen on TV product. There are several websites promoting it, so we don’t really know which one, if any, are the official one. No information is provided about the company that makes the moisturizer. The websites were registered in May 2014, which tells us it is still relatively new.

What is Derma Nova?

Derma Nova, an anti-aging cream, claims to provide results similar to more invasive anti-aging procedures like Botox. It contains triglycerides, shea butter, glycerine, peptides made of four amino acids. There is no complete formula listed, so we’ve no idea if there are parabens, fragrance or other irritants in the mix.

Quick Facts on Derma Nova

  • No complete list of ingredients.
  • May contain irritants.
  • There is a free trial.
  • The free trial lasts 15 days then you are charged $99.
  • The order is automatically placed on auto-ship.

What’s the Skincare Editor’s Take on Derma Nova?

“We review tons of products just like Derma Nova week after week,” says our Skincare Editor. “There’s no way for the customer to make an educated decision if all the ingredients are not listed.”

Here’s What People Are Saying

People thought the product was expensive.

  • ”Sure, you can get a free trial for just the cost of shipping, but I wasn’t happy to see the $79 cost that would be charged after 15 days. That’s not really long enough to see whether or not the product will work before they’re sending you more.”
  • “If I wanted to pay $79 for a moisturizer, I’d go to the department store and get a more well known brand that comes with a money back guarantee.”

Others felt that for what the product was, the price was on par.

  • ”Compared to some department store products, this is far more affordable. You really do get what you pay for.”
  • “I don’t mind spending that kind of money if I know something is going to work.”

Some people thought the autoshipment deal was scammy – and wanted to know why they couldn’t just buy the product when they wanted it.

  • ”I’d be much happier if I could just spend the money for Derma Nova when I wanted it. Getting roped in with a free trial spells trouble.”
  • “I was charged even though I attempted to cancel well within my 15 day window.”

Not everyone felt this way.

  • ”I like that it just comes every month. It’s one less thing for me to have to worry about going out to buy.”
  • “I canceled without any problems and wasn’t charged after the fact.”

Are We Sold on Derma Nova?

While it looks like a pretty solid ingredient profile, the fact that we don’t know anything about the company that makes the product, and there are reports of scams that make us worry. There’s also the problem with missing ingredients. We don’t have any idea if there are irritants and that’s a problem.

What Do We Suggest?

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream Review

Curious about Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream?

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream claims to be a phenomenal anti-aging powerhouse that hydrates and makes skin look younger instantly. The company was founded by Charlotte Tilbury, a British makeup artist with more than two decades of experience in the industry. She is considered by many to be the best in the field. She founded the company in 2013. The initial launch included makeup as well as the magic cream she had been using on clients for years.

What is Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream?

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream is the foundational product of the beauty line. The ingredients include water, homosalate, oat kernel extract, hydrolyzed viola tricolor extract, allantoin, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, disodium edta, tocopheryl acetate, camellia oleifera seed oil, rosa canina fruit oil, rosa damascena flower water, sodium hydroxide, sunflower seed oil, michelia alba leaf oil, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, ascorbyl palmitate, plumeria rubra flower extract, ascorbic acid, citric acid, nicotiana sylvestris, and more. We didn’t see any parabens or fragrance in the formula.

Quick Facts on Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream

  • The company is relatively new but it has a loyal following of industry insiders.
  • Ingredients include several excellent emollients and anti-irritants.
  • Doesn’t appear to contain parabens or fragrance.
  • While there are some anti-aging ingredients, they are not prominent.
  • The product is quite expensive.

What’s the Skincare Editor’s Take on Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream?

According to our Skincare Editor, “The Magic Cream does indeed have some quality ingredients that should moisturize regular skin. That really seems to be where the magic ends. There are simply not enough high quality ingredients to justify the claims.”

Here’s What People Are Saying

Many users felt the hydration didn’t justify the cost, while others were turned off by the smell.

People complained about the effectiveness in relation to the cost.

  • “This isn’t an anti-aging magical remedy that it claims to be.”
  • “Feels nice and creamy and gives slight sheen but wasn’t moisturizing enough and it wasn’t worth the price.”

Others swear by it.

  • “The magic cream keeps my skin looking dewy and hydrated all day like a celebrity.”
  • “Charlottes magic cream is just magic. It delivers all that it promises.”

Many consumers had an issue with the scent of the product.

  • “The scent lingered way too long for something I didn’t intend to use as perfume.”
  • “It worked ok but the scent gave me a headache.”

While others found it pleasant.

  • “It is extremely hydrating and feels amazing on the skin-and it smells delicious!”
  • “The smell is amazing, I can’t figure it out but maybe smells like roses?”

Are We Sold on Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream?

For the price, we’re skeptical. There are too many complaints about the product being nothing more than a mediocre moisturizer to justify the cost. We expected a popular beauty brand with this sort of price point to provide better results.

Avene Physiolift Review

Do you wonder how Avene Physiolift works?

Avene Physiolift is a full line of skincare products from Avene. The brand is global, available all over the world. The company was first started in 1743, when the first hydrotherapy center was built near the Sainte-Odiie spring in France. Since then the brand has evolved into a full line of products for anti-aging and other dermatological issues. The official website was launched in the United States in 2003.

What is Avene Physiolift?

Avene Physiolift contains several products, including a day smoothing cream, a day smoothing emulsion, a smoothing regenerating night balm, Physiolift Eyes, and a wrinkle filler. The products range in price from $30 to $50 each, depending on the merchant you purchase them from. Some cannot be shipped outside European countries. Ingredients vary by formula but include things like hyaluronic acid mono-oligomers and retinaldehyde.

Quick Facts on Avene Physiolift

  • Safe for sensitive skin.
  • Non-comedogenic, which means it won’t clog your pores.
  • Some of the products can be expensive.
  • Silicones are used.
  • Fragrance may cause skin irritation.
  • All ingredients are listed on the official website.

What’s the Skincare Editor’s Take on Avene Physiolift?

“We like that the products are safe for sensitive skin and they won’t clog your pores and contribute to breakouts. But, we don’t really see anything special about the line that makes it more effective than anything else on the market today,” says our Skincare Editor.

Here’s What People Are Saying

People were not pleased with the product formulations, or the effectiveness.

  • ”The only ‘wrinkle-fighter’ present in high amount in the formula is dimethicone. And that works by filling in fine lines and wrinkles, so they look smaller. The other active ingredient is sodium hyaluronate, an humectant that can attract up to 100 times its weight in water. This way, it moisturizes skin without adding even more oil.”
  • “They’re full of chemicals, like silicones, we’re told are bad for us. So, why is Avene, a brand renowned for it sensitive-skin friendly products using them?”

Some people don’t mind.

  • ”Synthetic ingredients, on the other hand, are made with only three or four compounds, so there’s a lot less chance they’ll cause irritations compared to natural plant compounds.”
  • “If it works, it works. It doesn’t have to be natural for me to care.”

Some people weren’t happy with their results, suggesting the products aren’t as effective, or worth the price tag.

  • “It takes weeks to see a small improvement with retinol. With retinal, it takes even longer.”
  • “I paid three times what I would in a drug store, for something that works just as well.”

Others feel the products are effective, you just have to give them time to work.

  • ”Basically, the Day Smoothing Cream does what any good moisturizer is supposed to: it hydrates skin, makes it softer and plumper, and reduces the appearance of wrinkles.”
  • “The rich but not-greasy texture hydrates the dry patches under my eyes well, and fills in the small fine lines that are starting to appear at the corners of my eyes, so they look a lot less noticeable.”

Are We Sold on Avene Physiolift?

Not exactly. While there are ingredients known to help improve the appearance of the skin, it doesn’t seem to provide any more value than other products on the market. Some others are actually more affordably priced than this line.

Of all the products we’ve reviewed in 2016, the one that stands out is BioGeniste. The customer reviews are out of this world and it contains clinically tested ingredients.

Cellogica Review

Want to know everything about Cellogica?

Cellogica is an anti-aging skin care product, that claims to use stem cell technology, “proven to restore youth.” There are several websites that promote this formula, offering a free trial. As such, we don’t know which one is the official website, and there’s no information about the actual manufacturer readily available. The websites began appearing online in 2014, so it is fairly new.

What is Cellogica?

Cellogica says it relies on stem cell technology to help the skin look and feel more youthful. The main ingredient appears to be made from mallus domesitca, which is a type of apple with a type of alpine rose. This supposedly allows the skin cells to regenerate at faster rates similar to what they did when you were young. Cellogica offers two types of products – a day cream that can be worn under makeup that contains Rona flair, a wrinkle filler – and a night cream that is applied before bed, and allows the skin to restore while you sleep. No information can be found about the differences in ingredients from the day and night cream.

Quick Facts on Cellogica

  • No official website – multiple websites promoting free trials.
  • No information about the product’s manufacturer.
  • Can’t find pricing information.
  • Reports of scams.

What’s the Skincare Editor’s Take on Cellogica?

“Stem cells can help turn back the clock, but without more information about the company that makes the product, we can’t really say whether that’s the case this time. With multiple sites promoting a free trial and not providing any real information, there are lots of red flags here,” says our Skincare Editor.

Here’s What People Are Saying

People didn’t like the free trial approach, and weren’t really impressed with their results.

There were lots of people upset by the free trial approach.

  • ”I didn’t like the fact that I had to choose which product to get the free trial of – and then when I tried to cancel, I had a hard time.”
  • “I’d rather just buy the products than to trust an unknown company with my credit card information.”

Others didn’t have any problems.

  • ”I was able to cancel my trial without issue.”
  • “I decided to keep my autoshipment on and haven’t seen any unauthorized charges.”

Some people didn’t think the results were worthy.

  • ”I’ve tried a lot of products, but this one just didn’t do anything for me.”
  • “After using the product for two weeks, I saw or felt no difference in my skin.”
