Four products are included in Prada’s Bio-Firm line, including various sizes of reviving face creams and an overnight firming cream. Because of its brand name and wide availability, this anti-wrinkle line is popular among older women, although the price may be a deterrent — buying this Prada-exclusive concentrate costs $150.00 on average, putting it in a comparable price range to Prada’s fashions.
Prada claims its main goal when producing Bio-Firm was to offer a convenient, hassle-free way of smoothing and firming the skin by using collagen boosters and herbal extracts, including sunflower seeds. They claim each product is designed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, along with age spots and uneven, patchy skin. The manufacturers detail how Bio-Firm works on the Neiman Marcus site, explaining that its collagen extracts absorb into the skin, allowing skin to firm naturally and effectively.
A typical Bio-Firm cream set, available in miniature vials, comes pre-packaged in sets of 10, so you will need to buy three sets for a month’s supply. Prada does not have an official ingredient list available. According to its website, Bio-Firm contains concentrates of marine and lab-synthesized collagen boosters, elastin firming ingredients, plant-derived fatty acids, fibronectin synthesizers (pentapetitide-3 marine mollusk filament), yeast, lupin herb, and extracts from various seeds such as sunfloewer, echium, and meadowform. Pentapeptide-3 is scientifically proven to enhance collagen and elastin growth in skin cells. Although it has not gone through rigorous human testing, it is still considered a legitimate anti-wrinkle ingredient. In addition to this, the mixture of sunflower oils included offer a rich source of vitamins E and B, which have positive effects on skin, improving its health and evenness.
Formula-wise, this cream appears to be solid, although Prada has not indicated why they have included yeast and lupin herb in Bio-Firm, two ingredients that are not linked to any positive skin benefits. Combined with the price, it might not be the first choice for all consumers.
