OPI is one of the larger nail product brands around these days. This company offers a line of treatments for the hands and body called AvoPlex. All of these products can be acquired online via select dealers, as well as through common drugstore retailers. The products offered by AvoPlex are Cuticle Oil to Go, High-Intensity Hand & Nail Cream, Enzyme Skin Therapy Cleanser, Moisture Replenishing Lotion, Nail & Cuticle Replenishing Oil, and Exfoliating Cuticle Treatment. The intended goal of these treatments is to “replenish essential moisture” while soothing the hands, body and nails.

The primary active component found in AvoPlex products is called Advanced Avocado Lipid Complex. This is essentially a combination of ingredients like Avocado Oil and Essential Fatty Acids, as well as Vitamins B1, E, A, D and B2. The official website states that AvoPlex treatments “restore your skin from the skinside out.” Additional ingredients found in products like the Cuticle Oil to Go are Sesame Oil, Sunflower Oil and Kukui Nut Oil. There is a 1-800 number provided on the OPI website for consumers, as well as an FAQ page that answers a number of common queries about pedicures, manicures and ingredients found in OPI treatments. Free samples of AvoPlex products are not offered.

Product Details

AvoPlex is one aspect of the OPI nail product line. The purpose of this group of treatments is to address issues like brittle nails, severely dry skin and overall skin and nail maintenance. A series of key active ingredients are incorporated into AvoPlex products, which range from Avocado Oil, to Essential Fatty Acids, to Vitamins like B1, E, A, D and B2. Scientific studies for AvoPlex products are not presented on the official OPI website, nor are any customer testimonials for the AvoPlex product line. Currently all OPI products and nail care treatments are available in common drugstores and select beauty salons.

The Good

  • All AvoPlex and OPI products are fairly easy to come by, considering that they’re sold across the US in drugstores and beauty salons.
  • The major active ingredients for AvoPlex treatments are posted clearly on the official OPI website.

The Bad

  • Positive reviews from consumers and AvoPlex users are not provided on the website.
  • Obviously, AvoPlex focuses specifically on nail health, not on treating wrinkles.
  • Free samples of OPI products are not offered via the official website.
  • The actual prices of AvoPlex products are not revealed on the website.
  • AvoPlex treatments cannot be conveniently ordered through the OPI website.

The Bottom Line

It’s clearly not difficult for women to come by OPI products in common salons and drugstores. This is always beneficial when you wish to buy something. Life’s so much simpler when the product is easy to acquire. However, that doesn’t exactly make AvoPlex from OPI any better than other brands. It would be helpful to see some clinical proof posted on the official website, in addition to the actual prices for AvoPlex nail, hand and body treatments. Naturally you want to know what something costs before attempting to purchase it.
