One of the latest unique services provided is the AlterEgo Hair Care Japanese thermal Straightening technique, which makes frizzy, curly hair straight. After the routine washing and cleaning, the hair is ironed with a special thermal iron and voila- you have straight hair. This technique usually takes at least 3-6 hours and can cost anywhere from $300-$1000. The website says you can get this type of hair straightening elsewhere, but it is often done by incompetent people (at least the salon is not shy to talk about their competitors!) The AlterEgo Hair Care salon also offers different types of human hair extensions and provides a comprehensive FAQ section on the topic. Other interesting products available at the store include bleaches and ointments for hair loss. The curative Ego Green Phials is said to contain horse radish extracts that can nourish the scalp and prevent further hair loss. There are also some men cosmetic products at Alter Ego including shampoos, shower tonics, after-shave lotions and moisturizing creams.

AlterEgo Hair Care offers wide variety of hair and skin products and the phone number listed on the webpage works fine. A call to the office was made and there was no delay in getting an appointment. The salon is reasonably priced and the website offers instructions on how to get there. The FAQs on both hair straightening and extensions is very informative. Besides hair, there are a number of decent skincare products. The majority of the AlterEgo lotions and creams are elegantly presented, relatively cheap and contain natural ingredients. Some of the listed ingredients in the hair products included vitamins, mineral salts and various peptides. Even though the website mentions that it caters to men, there are no products visible on the site (it does mention that a new website is in evolution). The website also offers translation in Spanish. For those who want to bleach or color hair, there is wide range of products to select from. The salon best serves the population who live in an around Elmhurst, Ill and is worth a visit.
