This company is a subsidiary of Scott's Liquid Gold, which is a company that has been around in the US for over 50 years. Neoteric Cosmetics, Inc. officially launched its Alpha Hydrox line of skin care products in 1992 and is based in Denver, Colorado.
Alpha Hydrox claims to that it prevents fine lines and wrinkles, unclogs your pores, prevents breakouts and acne flareups, and will leave you with young-looking, soft, smooth skin if you use their products regularly. Alpha Hydrox products come in four distinct varieties. There is the Blemish and Problem Prone Skin Care, White Line for sensitive skin, Bath, Body and Hand Care, and Facial Care. For the purposes of this review we will stick to the Facial Care line of Alpha Hydrox products.
The Alpha Hydrox Facial Care line consists of over a dozen different products such as cleansers, toners, gels, pads, creams and lotions. Most of these products use a formula that includes AHAs, which are Glycolic Alpha Hydroxy Acids.

Glycolic Alpha Hydroxy Acids are supposed to help renew your skin by working as an exfoliating agent. This will cause your old and dead skin cells to “peel away”, which then allows new skin cells to take their place. This may give your skin a youthful and radiant appearance. The official Alpha Hydrox website claims that dermatologists and plastic surgeons highly recommend products that contain AHAs.

The Good

The Bottom Line
Alpha Hydrox products look like they have the potential to be great exfoliators which will give your skin a youthful look after some time. The problem is that they use AHAs, which may give your skin a similar effect to that experienced by using products such as Retin-A. You may have very dry and red skin for days or weeks. The prices for these products are so low that, if you have had success with similar products, it couldn't hurt to give Alpha Hydrox a shot. However, if your skin is sensitive this probably isn’t the product for you.
