Alexandra de Markoff is a well-known cosmetics company that also offers some skin care and fragrance products. While this company does not offer a wide range of anti-aging products, it does have a handful of formulas available, including the Alexandra de Markoff Illusion for Lines. This is a fairly new product at the time of this review, and the manufacturers claim that it will offer fewer lines and wrinkles and a younger appearance overall. It also claims to be able to brighten the skin and revive dull areas. While we were unable to find a company website, we did find numerous online retailers that offered a full line of the Alexandra de Markoff products.
Without an online presence for Alexandra de Markoff, we were unable to find essential information like complete ingredient lists for products, free trial offers or money back guarantees. We were also unable to locate customer testimonials or before and after photos to support the effectiveness of these products. While this lack of information does not in itself imply a lesser quality product, the inability to track down this data leads us to believe that purchasing Alexandra de Markoff anti-aging products is certainly a bit of a risk without knowing if the formulas have a proven track record.
Product Details
The one ingredient that we were able to find in the Alexandra de Markoff Illusion for Lines was collagen. Collagen is responsible for keeping the skin plump and smooth in our youth. As we age, we lose this essential substance, which can lead to lines, wrinkles and sagging skin. Because of this, collagen is a very effective ingredient to include in any successful anti-aging product. However, collagen is not the only substance that works to diminish the look of lines and wrinkles. There are numerous other proven ingredients that will boost the effect of the collagen or even work well alone. These include matrixyl 3000 and argiine. We were unable to find either ingredient on the list for the Illusion for Lines.
The Good
- Alexandra de Markoff Illusion for Lines contains collagen in its formula.
- The products come with the well known name of Alexandra de Markoff to back them.
The Bad
- Other proven anti-aging ingredients, like argireline and matrixyl 3000 are not included in the formula.
- There is no online presence for the company.
- We were unable to find ingredient lists or customer testimonials for the products.
The Bottom Line
Although Alexandra de Markoff is a well known name in the cosmetic industry, their track record is not quite so well proven in other areas of personal care and beauty. The anti-aging products, like the Illusion for Lines, does not provide a complete ingredient listing that we could find, nor does it appear to offer a money back guarantee or customer testimonials. If you are a fan of the Alexandra de Markoff line, proceed with caution with their anti-aging products.

WARNING: Do not buy from yourcosmetics.com. Orders are taken online but not filled non responsive– just a recording. I lost $120.00 after placing an order (even rec’d confirmation). No product, no response, NOTHING.

Has the shade on 961/2 been altered. I ordered a bottle from mybeauty.com and my sister bought the same shade from Macys and both shades are not like our previous bottles that we had been using for the past 5 years
