Nutrogena, a popular manufacturer of skincare products has released a new moisturizing product called Ageless Essentials. This is a company that has built a reputation for creating products with little or no man made preservatives and this new product, Ageless Essentials Continuous Hydration purports to have a unique moisturizer that is time released and will absorb up to nine layers deep. In essence treating the base cause for dryness and fine lines. Dryness is just one of the many things that effects skin as people age and Ageless Essentials may not be the best product for addressing them.

Some people may feel like dry skin is the main cause of their fine lines or wrinkles. The question is what does Ageless Essentials have that other similar products do not? According to advertising Ageless essentials has a collective effect that works over time, this is in addition to the instant moisturizing. To put it in simpler terms this means that if you use Ageless Essentials for an extended period of time you will increase your skins overall hydration leading to a gentler softer appearance.

Product Details

In the Neutrogena Ageless Essentials line there are several available products. Some you may recognize are Ageless Essentials Continuous Hydration Moisturizer with SPF 25, Ageless Essentials Continuous Hydration cream cleanser, night cream and eye cream. When you look at the price range for these products you will find them quite reasonable, they retail for between $7.99 and $14.99. They are also extremely easy to find they are sold at drug stores, retail outlets and malls, anywhere the Neutrogena products are found. You can of course also find them on the company’s official site.

Finding detailed information on the difference between Ageless Essentials and other similar products has been difficult to say the least. On the website the company claims the product contains something called Hellioplex, however this is not further elaborated on.

The Good

  • The price point for the Ageless Essentials Products is very reasonable.
  • Ageless Essentials are found almost everywhere.

The Bad

  • This is a simple moisturizing line and has no significant effect on other causes of lines or wrinkles.
  • Hellioplex is a mystery ingredient that no one knows much if anything about.
  • A full ingredients list is not available on the official Neutrogena site.

The Bottom Line

When you break it down to essentials, no pun intended, Ageless Essentials is your run of the mill moisturizing skin care product. If all you need is a moisturizer then this product is a good choice particularly given the price. On the other hand if you are looking for advanced wrinkle fighting products there are no elements of this present in the Neutrogena Ageless Essentials product link. Your best bet for fighting this sign of aging is a product that contains peptides and or other ingredients specifically created to stimulate collagen production or smooth the skin. That does not mean that you should not use Ageless Essentials, by all means use it as a moisturizer, along with a more intensive regimen that includes more advanced wrinkle fighting skin care products.
